Dragon's Dogma - Dev Diary Part Three

400 NPCs, region specific dialects? That doesn't sound like too much work.

Firstly, this game loses some points for continuing the stupid sexy-armor trend. Seriously, why are we still making these adolescent armor sets with plenty of flesh exposed to oncoming blades? I have no issue with skin if the character is a mage who doesn't have use for armor and has a character reason for looking sexy (I'm thinking of Morrigan from Dragon Age), but a melee fighter or an archer? Did you know that the Amazons had a practice of removing one of their breasts so they'd be better able to use their bows?

HOWEVER, I am impressed with the notion that this game will have region-based dialects. Granted, if the game world is only the size of Skyrim (which is big, I'm not disputing that), it won't be big enough for that. But kudos for trying. I just hope the accents aren't just northern American, French, and varieties of English and Celtic. Throw in some Polish voices, just to shake things up.

Looks very awesome, the pawn system was one of the mechanics that really drew me to this game.

All aboard the Hype Train!

So Pawns:

- Give you hints on defeating enemies
- Make up for your character's weaknesses
- Help you avoid the grinding (with the borrowing system)

Basically they're fun killers.
I must assume the game gets really HARD if one doesn't rely heavily on these features? The Devs' talk is so reassuring in the video, but they seem to forget to say how challenging enemies can be without such allies.
Am I the only one concerned about a too low difficulty level here?

200 voice actors? Did they grab everyone on staff and their Wives/husbands? (possibly children too)

Im glad they have a lot of voice actors. While i do enjoy the comedy of 3 people in a room all sounding exactly that same... it does grow a bit old after youve killed them all a dozen times.
