How can you take anything they say serious, when they been developing it for such a long time.

I don't intend to be an asshole... but 3D Realms employees health bar was higher than the original designer/level creator and Gearbox..

No, it's going to be a bland brown shooter with Duke Nukem.
Seriously, get the point; You buy the game to experience Duke. No, the weapons won't be very special, the AI won't be that smart, graphics won't be top notch, level design won't be all that original and the game probably won't live up to 15 years in development.

But you get to be a macho, misogynistic, wise-cracking wanker that punches aliens in the balls the same time as he pulls one-liners.

If you don't like Duke Nukem, and you don't like the satire behind Duke Nukem, don't buy the game. It was never made for people like you. It's about Duke.

I'm all out of gum.
Well done sir. Well done.

I liked the discussion of how Duke began and how far he has come. Should be interesting to see what happens in Forever now as to where Duke goes.

The only people who don't appreciate Duke were either too young at the time or their parents didn't let them play his bad-assery. You don't get it? Fine, don't play it. The game was never designed for you.

Also, Duke I and Duke II are awesome! ^^

The only experience I've ever had with Duke Nukem was playing a demo of Duke Nukem 2. It always annoyed me that I could never get any further. I'll have to hunt the whole game down someday...

I had copies of Duke Nukem 1 and 2 found on my Duke Nukem 3D cd. I'm not sure what is out there for digital download, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if you could get a Duke compilation pack that included all the games that featured Duke to date, bandwidth and storage size make those ancient games ridiculously easy to get compared to when I would have to drive to a store several communities away or wait 6-8 weeks for my game to arrive in the mail.

Edit: I enjoyed the video, the behind the scenes story on the development of DNF is more interesting to me than the actual game, even though I am curious to see how it turns out when all is said and done so I can experience new one liners, silly alien ass kickery, and digitally rendered pretty women. More games these days need adult humour as their central theme. I noticed the video said Part 1, when can we expect more parts of this video?

I played and enjoyed Duke 3D way back when I was so young that most of the game went over my head, and I thought it kicked ass. Also had a little experience with the Duke Nukem 64 multiplayer. DNF wasn't something I ever followed, or even knew about for a long time.

It seems to me that people are actually getting excited about this game though. Even with all the jokes about how it would never come out or how it couldn't possibly live up to its 15 year developement. Ever since Gearbox took over and it became apparent that the game would become a reality opinion seems to have changed.

To be honest, I want it to succeed. Not only do I love the Duke Nukem character, but it would be awesome to see Gearbox turn the whole fiasco around and make it a success.
