Man, all of the hurt asses in this thread. I think I'll join in since no one seems to have researched the fucking game at all.

Shitty Characters, Shitty dialogue, Quick time events? Is it just me or has Square Enix managed to devalue Final Fantasy as an IP?
Combat was fine. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE MOVIES SQUARE ENIX THEN JUST DO IT!!! but you know what i blame? Not a company, developer, person, but a game. Final Fantasy 7. If that game didn't go away from formula of what made Final Fantasy 1-6 so great it wouldn't have reached THIS LEVEL OF SHITTINESS.

Final Fantasy II is garbage, and not only that but Final Fantasy IV was extremely linear in every aspect. It was ONE FUCKING game that made everyone say "LOL MOVIE MAKERS XDDDD".

Fuck, I don't know how any fanbase can be this terrible.

Oh, Jesus. It's like they somehow misunderstood everyone's complaints of "corny and uninspired dialogue" to actually mean "amazing writing" and decided to pursue it even further. I didn't think it was possible to be even more disinterested in this game, but I think that's actually what this trailer did.

Ditto. Any lingering interest I've had of even -following- this game has shriveled up and died. It's like they took my main complaints from FF13 and made them WORSE. I'll be honest, I didn't think it was possible.

You?you liked the linearity? Oh gosh.

By the way, the dialogue is only bad during cutscenes. It's standard fare on the regular map, and it's no worse than Mass Effect then.

I'm still sort of tempted to find out what the final product ends up like... But please oh PLEASE let that just be preliminary voice acting (as in, "quick, read this off a script so we can churn out the trailer and record the real dialogue later")

I mean, I didn't really have that many complaints about the writing in 13 (apart from some moments of course, for example whiny Hope pulling a magic-enhancing boomerang seemingly out of his arse and suddenly being a fighter... and then whining again) but this trailer gave me flashbacks to House of the Dead 2...
