Splinter Cells Conv.s complete lack of any proper stealth at all (actually that whole game can go die in a fire)\
Aw come on, Conviction wasn't that bad. Yeah it was short, yeah it was different, but I really liked the side missions and multiplayer aspects. And for there not being stealth, I gotta disagree.

It kind of replaced the "not seen at all" stealth with "not seen during combat" stealth for the most part. I still managed to get through some of the side missions without having to kill more than 1 or 2 guys.

Also I only payed like 30 bucsk for the echleon edition on Steam. Gotta love sales.

[My ranting and raging]
First off, I wish to apologize for using this quote-reply method, but it's efficient. And I hate breaking my vow of not-replying to quotes...hm, quotes suck. Anywho!

And this wall of complaints, forumites, is why I bash my head into the wall when people judge a game based on a trailer, especially a theatrical trailer.
Forumites sounds insulting, just saying, there are some who are probably very proud of their heritage. Anyways, judging games based on trailers is now wall-bashing worthy? Let me tell ya', I enjoyed the trailer, it was Agent 47 kicking ass, and I loved it. My post consisted of worries related to the decisions the development team have employed, not the quality of the game based on the trailer alone. It reminded me a helluva lot of Arkham Asylum, and while I wish folks would be more creative with their stealth sections rather than going, "Hmm, well if Batman did it, it must be perfect!", I'm not going to criticize a system that works--or is at least fun and functional.

Have you actually gone and do that thing people do with games, what's the word... "play"? Have you played it yet?
No, but I haven't played a lot of other games I've decided I wouldn't like before I played them. I don't like the game right now because of the production decisions they made. I'm sure the gameplay will be just great, but it's perfectly alright for me to harbor a grudge until they prove their decisions were for the better. Pre-judgement is one of those things that is only human. If I look at a stove and decide to touch a hot burner, it would be perfectly justified for me to assume it'll burn my hand if it is turned on. Watching that trailer brings to mind various other trailers that show the exact same thing--only with pointy ears and a cape rather than a dashing black suit and red tie.

And where are you ever getting half of these things? Out of your ass?
This is a little fun for me:

[/Score!]

Anywho, next up.

They're not going to show every single feature in the game.
Of course not. It won't be until we play it that we determine the good and the bad.

And I understand being upset about a change in voice actor/actress, but that doesn't invalidate it as a member of a series.
Sure. After all, there have been hundreds if not thousands of times when an actor or actress, whether on-screen or in voice only, has been changed or removed. The question is sort of, "what's the cause". David Bateson was--is, a perfect voice actor (and actor), particularly for Agent 47, so why was he dropped?! I mean, just read what he said in regards to it!

DAVID BATESON said:
It?s not been a dull year so far. To all the fans of the computer game series Hitman, I am extremely disappointed to announce that after 11 years as the voice of Agent 47, I have been unceremoniously dropped from the franchise. May I take this opportunity to warmly thank all those who have written to me in support.

I really appreciate it and I only hope for your sakes, Hitman Absolution lives up to all our expectations. I am sure it will. I have been honoured to have been a part of such an incredible game.

For legal reasons, I cannot comment further at the moment.
I mean, come on! The poor fellow is disappointed! 47 was a great character, and fans of the Hitman games have come to look at the character -as- the actor! And visa-versa! Whenever you look at Arnold Schwarzenegger, you often think one of three things: "It's the Terminator!", "It's Conan!" or, "It's Arnold Schwarzenegger, IFBB Mr. Olympia seven times from 1970?1975 and again in 1980!"

Well guess what. When I hear Agent 47, I hear David Bateson. And I know many other people hear it as well--and I know many other people are completely indifferent. Maybe they just don't respect the series in the same way as the rest of us do. It's the same with anything that has a fan base--and I'm a fan.

So of course I'm gonna nitpick the new game that decides to change it all up, you goofball!

(PS, if you quote me, can you just copy and past instead of pressing the quote button? I hate wasting time doing this, but that '1 New Message!' text always forces me to respond whenever I check on Zero Punctuation. Cheers!)

Wow, they changed the voice actors and dropped the map?!! I wasn't too concerned about the changes until I heard that. The map is how I always strategized. The map is THE most important part of the game. Without it, I'm concerned that this will just be another spoon fed, hand holding video game. I like difficulty and thinking. Come on IO, I know you need you probably need some cash after those abysmal "Kane and Lynch" games, but don't alienate your fans by forcefully dumbing down your product.

Regenerating health? See-through walls? Drawing lines to show patrol routes?

Quite a few bells going off...

It most likely uses a hybrid health system as the PC doesn't regen health from the fall/helicopter. I think that the instinct vision could be an option for people like me who find the AI of previous hitman games to be a bit unpredictable.
