I KNOW! I was like, "But...but it's Lord of the Rings! Why do I have to enter my birthday for a Lord of the Rings game?!"Fumbleumble said:What the hell is an M rating doing anywhere near LotR?

It's just yet another shameless cash in, with material inappropriate to the source.. just more shit on the market.
That statement is a little premature considering how much we dont know about it.Fumbleumble said:Well you're not going to find out from this game... it may as well have been a dog that wrote it for all the relevence the story has.
One, he wrote the Hobbitt for his kids. LOTR was for a teen-adult audience.Fumbleumble said:What the hell is an M rating doing anywhere near LotR?

See! Everything makes sense now. For more information, check here: Battle of DaleMarch 17, 3019: Battle of the Dale. King Brand and King Dáin Ironfoot fall. Many Dwarves and Men take refuge in Erebor and are besieged.
Yeah, that was what I thought as well when I first read the title and I thought it would be a halfway interesting idea. The region around Erebor is something I haven't seen in a game yet, so it would at least be something new. But if you look at the map in the trailer, it looks as if it is set in the north of Eriador, which means it will most likely involve Angmar. I'd hope it would be aboutthe battle of Dale, though.Veylon said:To those who doubt the canonicity of this game, it's right here in Return of the King, Appendix B.

Lotro is based off the books. Yea there are differances between books and movies.Rational-Delirium said:I've actually been wanting a LOTR game that didn't follow the same stories over and over and over again. I know I'm not the only one sick of seeing the same clips and hearing the same sound bites from the movies, repeated ad nausium. It's gotten to the point where if I play a new LOTR game, I skip the intro, because I know what'll happen. (Keep in mind, I NEVER skip scenes).
Hopefully this will be more independant from the movies, which will be good. I look forward to seeing more of this universe.
Is it a bad thing that people want to expand on the world of Lord of the Rings? Granted the story may not be as fantastic as the original, it may prove to be an interesting addition.Fumbleumble said:Well you're not going to find out from this game... it may as well have been a dog that wrote it for all the relevence the story has.008Zulu said:Looking forward to this. we all know the events that transpired in the movies/books, but I always wondered what the rest of the world was doing at the time. Battle for Middle Earth 2 shined some light on the events, but never in any really satisfying detail.
