What is it that female voice says at the end? Sounds a little like Olga Gurlukovich saying "Leave this country."
I dunno, the missing arm is in the same trailer with unicorns and giant flaming whales. I don't think you can assume it's any more than a hallucination, in which case the arm is probably a red herring.Reaper195 said:Essentially...this keeps coming down to that arm. The only character I can think of that lost an arm is Grey Fox. Ocelot was already old when his hand was cut off (By Fox). Man...this'd be awesome if all the connections with MGS5 are simply a marketing ploy, and that the game is entirely original with no connection to MGS at all. Developed by Konami. That'd rock.
I heard that as "V has come to", like the protagonist's codename is "V" (hence Metal Gear Solid V) and you have just come to, as in woken up from your coma.AgentLampshade said:What is it that female voice says at the end? Sounds a little like Olga Gurlukovich saying "Leave this country."
Maybe it'll explain how the bosses in the third game have super powers, since all the other bosses (in the 'present' time) ended up being simply explained by nano-machines.James Joseph Emerald said:I dunno, the missing arm is in the same trailer with unicorns and giant flaming whales. Though I agree it would be kind of cool if it was a Silent Hill remake or something, I also like the idea of it exploring the backstory of characters like Psycho Mantis, Liquid Snake and Sniper Wolf. And Decoy Octopus, what was his deal with the blood draining?
Well, Psycho Mantis's powers were never explained either. And Fortune in MGS2 was able to deflect missiles even without the special magnetic device (which, annoyingly, was never referenced again despite its apparent power).Reaper195 said:Maybe it'll explain how the bosses in the third game have super powers, since all the other bosses (in the 'present' time) ended up being simply explained by nano-machines.James Joseph Emerald said:I dunno, the missing arm is in the same trailer with unicorns and giant flaming whales. Whoa...didn't play Twin Snakes, so I missed that. I swear Psycho Mantis was explained at the end of MGS4, but I might be wrong. I also completely forgot about Fortune using her power after it had been 'turned off'. SO I guess maybe there is actual supernatural stuff in the future of MGS. I was really annoyed to find out that Vamp was entirely nano though...although I guess better than an actual vampire.James Joseph Emerald said:Well, Psycho Mantis's powers were never explained either. Also, there's precedent [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2Hkb1UHmSM&t=440] for Mantis causing fiery hallucinations.
you sir just made me rethink this whole trailer... thank youJames Joseph Emerald said:There's a theory about this that I quite like:
This game depicts the formation of the FOXHOUND unit, and the trailer you see is the part where Big Boss first meets Psycho Mantis.
Hideo Kojima, because sanity is boring!JimB said:Wh...what even the hell did I just watch? Black ops riding unicorns with horns made of flames and flying whales eating helicopters? What? This is a joke, right? This is Kojima parodying his own tendency toward absurdity, right?
What if it's Solidus?Aurora Firestorm said:Alternatively, it looks like it could also be Big Boss, around the time he got preserved by nanomachines, because he's missing an eye, right? Or at least his eye is bandaged.
