It seems live-action trailers are becoming the norm.
It annoys me that they're trying to add empathy and feeling to this game when the first one was as shallow as shallowness. If it works then I'll take my hat off. In till then I'm septic. It's also entertaining when one of the first promo videos went pretty much "OMFG LOOK AT THIS AWESOMELY GRUESOME POWER THINGY YOU CAN DO WITH TENTACLES". It seems the game developers are into two camps. People who still haven't acknowledged they're no longer pubescent teens, and people who want to write a gripping emotional story. I doubt those two will marry.

I enjoyed the first, but not enough to complete it. Safe to say I will ignore the sequel.

Well...
To be frank, I thought that was a pretty dumb trailer.
The guy that they got to play as Mercer doesn't even look like him, plus the C.G. was garbage.
No new gameplay shown, just a guy yelling at another guy after reminiscing whilst jumping off a building.

fuck you prototype, you havent EARNED the right for a live action trailer, especially with Johnny Cash's Hurt.

NO.

Besides the fact the song doesnt match in context or in tune, its only your second game, the first one was pretty damn lame, and who the shit directed this? M. Night?!

also, video game companies, Yes, halo 3 had 3 live action shorts and so did the rest.
How ever those games transfer to live action very well and has the lore, fanbase, and type of story you can do that with.
stop
ripping
off
halo

yes, i love halo, but i like halo as halo. stop band wagon hopping.

I'm confused... how is this, or any other thing that has a live action trailer ripping off Halo?
OH GOD MA BRAIN-SPACE, IT HURTS!

Anyway... Huh, looks like a semi-likable character.
We'll just have to wait and see if he eats anyone.

Or I dunno... might be cheaper...
And I'm pretty sure Halo wasn't the first.
(I do say might, I don't know the costs)

But... you have some strong rage for prototype my friend.

Seriously, dude, I think you need to sit back and relax a little. We get that you don't like Prototype and REALLY dig Halo, but that level of rage is unhealthy. Live-action trailers have become a new tool for advertising. While, maybe, Halo was the first one to do a live-action short, that doesn't mean that the series has a stranglehold on that form of advertisement.

I also believe that the trailer matches up with the game rather well. The lyrics fit with the scenes showcased. While the CG might not be Avatar quality and the actor for Mercer doesn't look like the in-game representation, the production house likely didn't run with that fantastic of a budget.

i like raging, its a stress reliever.
I wouldnt even have a problem with prototypes trailer if they didnt think they needed to use Johnny Cash's hurt which has nothing to do with prototype.
and dont most companies wait till the THIRD game to make a live action trailers?

(p.s. Avatar looked like shit, the cgi was too cluttered and unrealistic for me, but i digress)
