Raphael looks pretty weird in a hat and jester clothes. I was hoping he'd keep the whole royal garb/fancy vampire look he had in SC3 and 4, it was simple and to the point. Now he just looks like he pasted paper mache to his clothes.

I'll probably buy this because I loved Soul Caliber II on the Game Cube and have been hoping for a decent sequel ever since. But why oh why do half the characters have to look and sound like whiny anime teenagers? And why did Taki (my favorite character) have to develop those ridiculous norks? And why does Raphael (my second favorite character) have to come across like some Japanese stereotype of a European aristocrat?
I just had a horrifying thought. What if Bethesda sold out and allowed a default Dragonborn into Soul CalibRE? *Shudder*
Blarg. Sorry, Namco. It's nice to see a new SC game since it wasn't exactly a sure thing that the series was going to continue, but you definitely don't have any of my money coming your way. Even if the system and mechanics weren't intentionally dumbed down, I still wouldn't be buying a fighting game for essentially one character that I may actually want to play (that being Viola, who honestly looks rather interesting). No Mina, no Talim and no Setsuka (or even clones of them) pretty much kills any interest I did have.
I'm surprised, none of the women had excessively large chests. Has their development team decided that fighting with GG's is a bad thing?

... they've replaced Kilik with Goku and three of the four characters were men beating up women with ease.
Soul Calibur games, don't pretend to have a plot. I'll only play this one if I can still create custom characters.
