Actually, Pearlman would be good for it. He's done Norse work before. Go find a movie called The Outlander. It's a sci-fi infused retelling of the Beowulf epic. Pearlman plays Hrothgar. He does come at it a little Irish, but it works.Boyninja616 said:MEDIC!!Daystar Clarion said:[HEADING=1]Arghh![/HEADING]
Why do I keep doing this to myself!
7 more days!
I...I...I don't think I'm gonna make it guys...
Go on without me...
OP: Everything I see about Skyrim just makes me bubble up with happiness. This is going to be thousands of times better than Oblivion (Which I put about 450 hours into). I'm going to die of malnutrition playing this game.
Perlman's voice wouldn't have fit the setting that well, I don't think. Sir Patrick and Liam aleady did major roles. Variety is the spice of life.Hashime said:Christopher Plummer was a great casting decision, his voice is perfect for an elder. Now, all they need to do is get Ron Pearlman, Liam Nissan and Patrick Stewart and they would have an all star male cast.
I do agree that Plummer is probably one of THE BEST voice actor choices for Skyrim. Him and John Hurt would make a killer duo in a game like this.
Bro, not only the ones on my neck...Ken_J said:Did any one else have the hairs on the back of their neck stand on end during the theme?
Yeah, the combat gameplay does seem the same, except for the addition of finish moves, dual-wielding/spell-mixing, running speed changes, weapon type skill changes, severe polishing, the addition of dragon shouts and perks.AndyFromMonday said:Graphics and sounds aren't everything. Developers can tout their ability to create realistic worlds all they want but if the gameplay is shit then they've worked for nothing. Since the combat system looks identical to the one in Oblivion, I'm not getting my hopes up.
I checked out a stream, and it looked like shit. But this makes it look about 1000 times better. I'm not one to care about graphics all that much, but sound is just about everything in a game, IMO. Graphically though, I'm a bit blown away, it's just so night and day from the last game, and I'm not talking about graphic technology. I mean, that game engine was ok when it first came out, but it's just so horrible now. After Fallout: New Vegas I thought they would never do away with it.Fawxy said:My god....
As someone who hasn't watched any of the streams from the leaked games, I was utterly shocked by the gameplay footage I saw in this trailer.
It's like night and day between this and previous TES games. And the closer I get to Skyrim, the more I realize how HORRIBLY Oblivion has aged.
Time to echo a lot of people in pointing out how you are wrongAndyFromMonday said:Graphics and sounds aren't everything. I've played it unpatched and unmodded for three years. Does that count?Inkidu said:I think my mind just exploded, and I've already seen the trailer once. To all those people who think it's just Oblivion, shut up. Unless you've played Oblvion unmodded and unpatched for five years I don't want to hear anything, because I'm sure I can handle Skyrim.
Fair enough. His more recent work led me to believe that his gravelly Manhattan accent wouldn't translate well into Scandinavian voice work. Thanks for pointing this film out.Inkidu said:Actually, Pearlman would be good for it. He's done Norse work before. Go find a movie called The Outlander.
