It looks very interguing. I want to know *why* the civilisation of Hyrule is now above the clouds. Is it simular reason to it being flooded in the Windwaker?

So there's an enemy with what looks like a dark version of the master sword? I'm intrigued. This still doesn't give any answers to who the blue girl is.

Also, the flying reminds me of a flying version of Windwaker. Who wants to bet it uses the same flying mechanics as Wii Sports Resort?

Did you know that if the GDC 2011 trailer is played backwards, you can hear Zelda's Lullaby? I have heard it was intentional, but I have no confirmation of this.

It definitely was intentional. If you listen to it backwards, you can tell from the inflection of the notes that it was played forwards and then added backwards in the video. I don't think it means anything, but it was definitely intentional.

I'm so looking forward to Zelda Infinite where we're in the clouds instead of under the sea.. oh wait...

Actually Skyward Sword does look freaking awesome. I want it NOW!

Yes it's definitely there. And indeed the same is true of this E3 trailer. Some nice person has already uploaded a reversed version :)

My reactions as I watched:

- wow, I really like the aestetics of the game. So colourful. It a big change from Twilight Princess.
- Heh, the falling reminds me of Kingdom Hearts
- Oh, crap, Link's right-handed again :( I hope you at least get to pick or something, but I doubt it

Conclusion: gonna get it for sure, gonna love it for sure, can't wait to know more about the game.

i lost almost all interest when they showcased the motion controls not as a ehh nice to have, but as a core part of the gameplay.

I don't know. Right now this game is a RENT in my book, but it is really gonna have to be spectacular to upgrade to a BUY. Especially since I want a PS3 more.

They must have some good plastic surgeons up in the clouds, 'cause Link looks like he's had some collagen implants.

I'm intrigued by this! At least Nintendo are trying to make something proper out of the motion controls that have become ubiquitous on all the console platforms in absolutely the wrong way. The aesthetics are lovely and while the aging hardware may not be able to carry it fully, it's definitely nothing to scoff at. The last trailer did a great job of both tickling my imagination and showing its roots to this classic franchise.

Did anyone else notice that early on in the demo, 3 people jump from the land mass, Zelda, Link and, unnamed other person. Link and Zelda land on the back of Ho-oh and Shiny Ho-oh but human number 3 isn't seen again which leads me to believe that, that person was introduced to the underworld at just under the speed of sound.

As for the game itself: can't wait to try it! I still need Twilight Princess though and I'm not far at all into Wind Waker.

You could either say this is a cartoony version of Twilight Princess, or a less cartoony version of Wind Waker, both are correct.

At this point we all know the game is going to be good, so there isn't much to get excited about and that may be it's downfall, hype-wise. In fact, the best thing that can happen to the Zelda series is for this one to bomb, then in two years when they release another one everybody will be buzzing "Will this one be better than that pit-stain Skyward Sword?"

But no, Nintendo has to be all "We truly care about our products".

Thoughts while watching the video:

1. Wow. Link looks like a douche in this game.

2. Wow. This looks exactly like every other 3-D Zelda game ever made.

The Zelda franchise wouldn't work if they radically changed the way they're played but I'd really like to seem some innovation with the aesthetics. Wind Waker was a step in the right direction. This really does look like Twilight Princess with Wind Waker's bright color scheme. Not innovative at all.

Hmm... so Link has some kind of rival now, in the form of some white-haired guy around his age? Oh dear god, don't let the fan-girls see this, I can smell the dirty fan-fic's already!
