Thanks a lot, that'll save me some time.
So, does it fit the trailer in any way other than musical?

Well, even though it wasn't in my native language, it was really weird hearing that song, cause a lot of folk bands here (Estonia) use music and singing very familiar to what I just heard.
I does have a certain "Baltic" feel to it, doesn't it?

I have to say, the song really works for me in this trailer. I'm just a bit sad that they didn't get a Polish folk-rock band to do it. Not that I'm being nationalist, it would just seem fitting. Meanwhile, the Polish song that is promoting the game (in Poland only, AFAIK) is sung by a blues singer and rather bland (at best).

Digging the music. It seems to be a remix; does anybody know which, or where it can be obtained?

The standard mix of varg timmen I found has the same tune as 'dudelzack', by schandmaul. Can anybody shed light on this? Are the bands related, or is it an old song that they're both using?

My goodness. My pants. They need changing. And not from the skinny dipping. This game looks gorgeous! This may very well be a GotY contender.

This game is simply amazing.

I played through the Prologue last night. Everything blew me away. The scale of everything is 100x that of the first Witcher. The game is absolutely beautiful to look at, the attention to detail is second to none. A review site said that there is more detail and care given to the various slums of the Witcher, then there is the entire city of Kirkwall (Dragon Age 2); sarcasm aside, he is absolutely correct. It's just that good.

I've only just begun, and haven't even started monster slaying yet, and I feel like I've played through an excellent game already. I'm looking forward to the epic monster contracts.

Seriously, if you have the rig to max this out (which isn't that difficult, turn off Ubersampling if you're having trouble. It's for future-proof rigs.) The first time you walk out of the tent at the siege camp, you know you're in for it... big time.

If you like RPGs in the slightest... you are doing yourself a disservice by not playing this game.

Bewbs. Other than that, nice trailer.
Honestly I was more impressed by the uncensored vagina. it's the first time I ever see this in a game.

Jesus, did the owl at the beginning clip through the rock?
Yep, it did.

I can see polygons on the rock though, so it's a cut scene and can probably be forgiven.

The game is currently quite buggy. Silent crashes with launcher, refuses to accept standard resolutions and a laundry list of minor issues. I'm confident though that it will get patched soon.

Looks cool. I still have L.A. Noire and Brink to entertain me for now, but I'm very tempted to pick this up.

That being said, all these DA2 comparisons are getting annoying. Aside from the genre, the two games don't seem to have a whole lot in common, yet every other review and comment brings up DA2 and BioWare. Hell, I think half the deluge of perfect user reviews is just more people trying to "stick it" to BioWare by pointing out how amazing Witcher 2 is and how crap DA2 was. Now, I liked DA2, I won't lie, but that's beside the point. RPG fans have gotten way too bent out of shape over that game, like even more than typical mediocre releases. I realize that you expected better from BioWare, but seriously it's time to just let it go. And get this, there are even troll accounts showing up trying to make BioWare look bad.

It's true, check the Metacritic user scores and you'll see a bunch of 10 reviews bitching about a user named M_Stannard, accusing them of being a BioWare employee and rating the Witcher 2 down. But get this: M_Stannard is a troll account named after Knight-Commander Meredith and has no affiliation with BioWare.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, but it's a shame to see this sort of thing.

I wonder if Witcher 2 will finally be witchy enough for Gabe.
I don't know what else could he ask from the developers. It's the witchest game I ever saw.

Well I am in the middle of chapter 1 right now and loving it. I was finding the combat a bit more challenging than the first game and then I realised that using other signs (not just Aard and Igni) were quite useful in some situations.

But it runs smoothly on my PC and has been very fun so far: it was hard to go to work this morning knowing that the game was at home.

Generally speaking I would say 'no', but in the case of this game I would have to go with 'yes'. I would characterize Geralt as promiscuous at best, so it fits the mood of the game.

And why not, it has sword fighting and magic so it might as well include something else most male gamers never see...

Kidding of course - but I have the "Australian" version (althought I live in New Zealand) and I found there was nudity in the game too. Not sure if its just not as much as the other versions or if we didn't actually get the same version after all.

Is anyone else finding the graphics rather lacking given when the title is released?

Also Geralt seems to have forgotten how to block with his sword..
