I've got the game and I know it's hard to believe but that is actual game footage.teh_steve said:PFFFFF... Can anyone say pretentious? I mean seriously, shoddy game footage (note: not actual gameplay) set to classical music.
So you're agreeing with what I'm saying? I'm all for cutscenes in a game, but I'd rather PLAY the awesome moments than watch someone else doing them.kayisking said:I've got the game and I know it's hard to believe but that is actual game footage.teh_steve said:PFFFFF... No, I am not. I am saying that there is no pre-rendered footage in there. I do not agree with calling the thing pretentious.teh_steve said:So you're agreeing with what I'm saying? Also games that advertise themselves without in game gameplay is a personal bugbear. Show us what we'll be fucking doing, not what you've decided will be pretty and pre-rendered.
No, I've the game and near evrything is in a mediaval dark age theme, from the dress, to the armor, the city... to the believing of the people. Evrything. I think it is an example of "aestetic: how it's done" for Extracredit of last week. And as kaysing say, yes in this game there is no pre rendered cutscene. It's all in the same grapic of the dialog part.teh_steve said:PFFFFF... Can anyone say pretentious? I mean seriously, shoddy game footage (note: not actual gameplay) set to classical music.
Ok, I used "pre-rendered" in the wrong context here. "non playable" would have been better. i like a game that actually shows the combat, the gameplay itself.kayisking said:No, I am not. No it's not. Alright, what you see there, is non-playable, I grant you that. But a game that has a trailer with classical music is not "instantly pretentious". If the music fits the trailer, then why should they not use it. If you use it just so you appeal to the artsy crowd, then yes it's pretentious. This is not pretentious, this some of the best accompanying music I have heard in a trailer since Dead Island (you know the one I mean). So don't go saying it's pretentious just because it has classical music playing in the background, cause I can't imagine music more fitting for this trailer.teh_steve said:Ok, I used "pre-rendered" in the wrong context here. And any game that sets its trailer to classical music is instantly pretentious. Especially a "mature" game like Witcher
So witcher 2, they took a bunch of disjointed and frankly rubbish looking scenes, and stuck a classic piece on it. Dead island, they composed their own music for it.kayisking said:No it's not.
