They may be getting an update with the release of Codex: Chaos Space marine legions or the white dwarf codex : chaos rengades. But that would have to be when the 6th edtion is released.KnowYourOnion said:Don't even talk about the Lost and Damned...........What's that 40ker? You've spent hours customising your Imperial Guard and buying new Chaos marines to create a cool looking L&D army, oh you have!! In that case it's best for everyone that we suddenly claim the rules you used to design your army are no longer going to be considered official or legal....GonzoGamer said:This one looks like it will be a keeper.
I'm still renting it first though. Everything 40K has been pretty disappointing over the past couple of years. Ever since 5th edition; or whenever they decided to ditch the Lost & Damned.
Gee thanks GW, you're such a pal
That's the reason I finally stopped playing the tabletop game. I spent a boatload of cash, time, and effort in making my Iron Warriors army. New Codex... Screwed up. Now my best units aren't legal.KnowYourOnion said:Don't even talk about the Lost and Damned...........What's that 40ker? Yea, that was what made me stop loving and start hating Games Workshop. At least you can use guard & chaos marines for their own armies. My friends and I designed all sorts of strange mutants using the beastmen, skaven, and zombies... And we don?t even play WarhammerF.KnowYourOnion said:Don't even talk about the Lost and Damned...........What's that 40ker? That does actually look like a good traitor guard army but it?s lacking all the weird mutants that were the face of the Lost & Damned...for me at least. Nothing gave me more joy than forcing a few units of space marines into pouring all their fire into your horde of plague zombies while my assault & brute mutants flank them. Hell, I even had fun losing when I used that tactic ? it was the chaos variation of the old gorka-morka tactic.Major Tom said:There is the Defenders of Vraks list you can download from Forgeworld, that's a sort of official L&D list (depending on your opponents stand on Forgeworld stuff).
Then again, the internet tells me that it sucks. But I generally take what the internet says with a big cup of salt, so I'm going ahead and painting up some renegade guardsmen using that list anyway.
My friends and I have actually just stuck with the 4th edition. It?s not like we go to tournaments or anything anyway ? we mostly just battle each other.vxicepickxv said:I would totally enjoy me some Lost & Damned. I wish those guys would come back.
I'm working on a IG army all decked out with Chaos Iconography and random mutations.
You know, I was really looking forward to having the Sisters in DoW. I even tried the mod for it and yes I should?ve just stuck with that. They actually did a pretty good job on the army, while screwing the Dark Eldar. The biggest problem I had with Soulstorm (single player) is that it was pretty much exactly the same game every playthrough. In Dark Crusade (even though the armies started in the same spot) the migration of the armies meant you fought different armies at different strengths depending on who you started with. In Soulstorm (even though they were supposed to migrate) the armies were more static.Nikolaz72 said:Soulstorm. I guess we can just act like it never existed <_<
I thought there were more (they?re talking about Dawn of War 3 now) I traded with a friend: Soulstorm for Chaos Rising. None of my friends bothered with Retribution so I never even tried it.Frostbite3789 said:DoW 2 only had two expansions. How could you talk about them like you've played multiple DoW 2 expansions, but not the last couple (which by definition is 2). Chaos Rising and Retribution are the only two DoW 2 xpacks.
Soulstorm was for original Dawn of War.GonzoGamer said:I thought there were more (they?re talking about Dawn of War 3 now) I traded with a friend: Soulstorm for Chaos Rising. None of my friends bothered with Retribution so I never even tried it.
Yea, but my friend had never played Soulstorm and had gone back to DoW1.Frostbite3789 said:Soulstorm was for original Dawn of War.GonzoGamer said:I thought there were more (they?re talking about Dawn of War 3 now) I traded with a friend: Soulstorm for Chaos Rising. Retribution is easily one of the best xpacks in the series. Also it dumps GFWL, one of the biggest problems I had with vanilla 2 and Chaos Rising.
'You not supposed to use ranged weapons! your supposed to run in and melee each other!' - I could see this going the way of the whiney shotgun obsessives from Gears of War berating anyone who didn't just run in for a shotgun clusterf***.Lawyer105 said:Unless they do some serious balancing on the (only) melee class, the game will die in multiplayer ignominy as everyone starts to play one.
Think HARD about the multiplayer games you play... if you were:
1) unbeatable in melee (presumably, since the others are ranged classes),
2) had three times the maneauverability of any other class (jet packs are awesome), and
3) could probably get away from any combat you were losing until the odds were stacked in your favour again,
would you play any other class?
I might... because I'm a masochistic moron in games like this (the fluff says Tac's are more experienced and better trained than Assaults, so damned if I'm playing anything else!). But I seriously doubt the majority of the screaming fanboi's would.
So yeah... MP is going to come down to the melee balance.
I'm not even going to start into comparing a bolter to a lascannon until the melee is balanced.
Terminators?! They are game-breakers. The only way to make them work is for them to have slow but powerful attacks and not be able to run to justify their ridiculous armour. Yeah, I can so see players enjoying that... [/sarcasm]RadiusXd said:where are teh terminator?

scouts would get ripped up by normal marines dude...unless they are the snipersNotsomuch said:No Scout Marines?
