i've signed up to take part in a half marathon later this year and i was wondering if any of you kind folk have any tips and pointers regarding training and such, as i have never done any kind of distance running. so any tips or useful websites would be apreciated.

For now, try to run at least two miles every day, then keep adding miles when you feel comfortable. And make sure you do at least three practice half marathons before the real thing, just so you know very well what it's like.
