i am intending on buying the new slim in the next week or so, and would like to trade in my old 360 to get some money off. i've heard you can use a USB stick to transfer the data, so was thinking i could put the data onto the USB stick and then move it to the slim once i have bought it. i was just wondering if anybody had any advice on what to do, is it really simple?

NO dont do whatever you just typed, I barely read it before its wrongness hurt my eyes.

Just do this, quick, simple and easy provided you have XBL that is.

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/licensemigration/

Please, its also FREE as you would have to buy a harddrive transfer kit elsewhere...

Yep. Well on your old 360, format a nicely sized USB stick, and then just transfer over. It's cheaper than buying a special 360 USB thats very over-priced...

EDIT: Or do as said ^above^. Save a lot of hassle.

thanks but i already know about the licences, but that's not what i meant. it's the save files and such. i'll do the licences and dlc's in that way, but i meant save files.

You either have to format an USB to work with your xbox or buy an official transfer lead thing those are your only options as far as I know.
