So, we're running vampires completely into the ground, yes? As if Twilight didn't do enough damage, now we're going to drag a classic modern vampire series through the mud?

For the sake of fairness, I decided to look up what movies both of these writers have written or co-written.

2005-The Island; The Legend of Zorro

2006-Mission Impossible III

2007-Transformers

2009-Watchmen(uncredited script polish); Star Trek; Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

2011- Cowboys & Aliens

2012- People Like Us

2013- Star Trek: Into Darkness; Now You See Me

2014- Amazing Spider-Man 2

In conclusion...yeah, "rocky" is being generous to describe their past writing attempts.

Also, this has very little chance of actually happening, since they said in April that they will no longer work together for cinematic releases [http://variety.com/2014/biz/news/alex-kurtzman-roberto-orci-splitting-up-on-big-screen-exclusive-1201160542/].

MovieBob please use your vast power in the industry to change the writer to someone who mostly sticks to the books. Most successful movie adaptations stick to the books story. And as a fan of the series I would prefer it.

But seriously before I read the comments I thought I would be the only one to thing that this is a bad idea. This was a pleasant surprise.

Faith in humanity restored - for now :)

Oh dear.

Interview with a Vampire blew my mind when I first read it as a teenager, although the whole concept lost a lot of novelty in the sequels (Vampire Lestat barely managed to hold my attention and I never finished Queen of the Damned).

Likewise, I really love the Interview film and I do think it's about the best job anyone could reasonably do of bringing that book to screen (leaving aside the slightly weird shot of someone being sliced in half). The Queen of the Damned film has a fun soundtrack and pretty much no other redeeming features.

So yeah, I don't think I'll be going to see this.

For gawd sake, leave it alone! Can't they adapt something that could actually use an update?
