Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen Review
After the first Transformers film, many people had high expectations for Revenge of the Fallen. And in my opinion most of them were nicely met.
The film begins 2 years after the first film and heads straight into the story. Samuel Witwicky, played excellently by Shia Labeouf, is heading to college, attempting to continue his life as a normal student whilst the kind Autobots and the military work together to track down and secretly eliminate all Decepticons on Earth. All seems well until Samuel discovers a shard of the Allspark on his possession...
The films starts with NEST, the Autobots and military alliance, tracking down Decpticons. In the early minutes this scene delivers great action, as well as introducing us to cool, new Autobots which have landed on Earth.
It continues unfolding its story with, for me, a predictable twist early in the movie. The jokes, action and story then continue nicely, with funny jokes, great battles, and introduction to new characters, until a lengthy story is rushed by a new, strange character. The film goes slightly downhill from there, with one or two predictable events. But a large, film improving battle was yet to be shown. And then the film reaches its lowest point. The film goes from "awesome" to "pretty good": the very last battle. I expected it to be somewhat epic, but was sadly disappointed. Michael Bay missed the opportunity to probably make this film the Film of the Year, by not expanding this battle to what it could have been.
All actors deliver excellently throughout the film. But Shia Labeouf, in my opinion, gave the best performance, beating the humorous John Turturro who plays agent Simmons.
Overall this film very good, meeting most expectations.
