I really can't abide by this. I come home from work/school looking to unwind, and I come into lobbies looking for like minded people. What I get is a clan of black guys cussing incessantly, and then one white racist comes into the fray (not me, mind you) and the whole match EXPLODES even before we're in game. I like games, and I like other gamers, but why the hell does everyone seem to feel so personally inadequate that they have to immediately pick up a headset and fire off every slur, curse, swear or dirty insult, at whoever will listen? I like other gamers, I like hearing what they have to say, I like talking with my friends while we're playing online, I don't like people screaming about all the nasty things they want to do to my mother while I'm talking with these friends. And besides personal objections, we're already venting by fragging each other online, isn't that enough? I mean sure its ok to laugh and say "haha, I shot you" but can't that be the end of it. No, instead i get someone using the crouch button repeatedly on Halo 3 (which by the way, has it ever been used for actually CROUCHING?!?) while vehemently attempting to hump their headset in contempt for my very existence. And thats just not kosher with me, so to all trash talkers out there, please, lets have some good will towards fellow gamers.

I draw the line at swearing ten year olds. I'm catching grief from a little punk who's testicles haven't even dropped yet?? Trash talk is fine, my brother and I throw insults at each other every time we get together, but it always ends with both of us laughing ourselves sick at our increasingly lame attempts to one up each other. And one other thing T-bagging has never been cool, so knock it the hell off.

The major joy of EvE for me was often the smack-talk. Nothing pertaining to real life whenever possible, and definitely nothing with an 'ist' at the end. Any comment about someone's personality and behaviour, all utterly fair game though.

I remember becoming a murderer in Lineage 2 (old MMORPG), killed off farmers and the occasional by standers, I would get abuse left, right and centre. I swear ,I never had so much fun in a game, the abuse just made it funny, I don't take crap from people who are dead!

However, any other time like when your trying your best but it's not good enough for some asshole in the group, then it is not funny! I draw the line when people talk shit when you are not pleasing them in some way. Even in CS there is the occasional dick head who calls out hacker or that you suck because you die straight away.
