Do you guys report people if they trash talk you?

I was on a team tonight in COD4 and the top player kept repeatedly complaining about how much I sucked.

Now I honestly didn't really mind because I'm not the most skilled player and I just play for fun. I also wasn't sucking as much as I do sometimes, I had about 10 kills and 10 deaths.

I didn't respond, it wasn't really worth plugging my headset in for.

I was however tempted to report him, as if he was going to act like that to someone whose kill ratio was third best on the board for that particular game then how would he make a completely new player feel who actually wanted to get into the game competitively?

I didn't end up reporting him but I left thinking maybe I should have.

I have heard other morons being equally as annoying towards other players and it always makes me think they must have extremely small penises to make them act like that.

Have you guys have bad experiences with idiots like this one and did you file complaints?

Everyone deals with "that guy" at one point in time, online or off. It's a sad truth. I can't speak from experience since I haven't been in any situation where reporting was an option, but if someone began to harass me for any reason, and I couldn't talk them into stopping or changing their ways, then I would report them.

Even though he sounds like a retarded ass-hole, who can't even let crap out without failing, you just have to live with it. Theres nothing to do about it except to accept the fact that theres always trashy people who will be ass-holes online. the sad truth is that if you can't deal with it you're better off staying offline.

I find that most people report others for stupid reasons anyway. If they lose? "He was blatantly cheating or has a turbo controller!"

While sometimes the above is true, I will say that I do tend to swear a lot and CoD stresses me out in which case I end up playing worse xD But that's just me.
I've been reported for unfair play (for no reason) a multitude of times but as my stats show, 60% of people don't submit reviews.

Trashtalkers normally don't have skill, or balls. On another note I never really understood tea-bagging. When I was a idiot 12 year old(like we all were/are/will be). Putting your balls in another dudes mouth ment you were gay. Did that change?

Edit: Honestly i don't report people though, freedom of speach no matter how much I hate what they say. I will kill them ingame...repeatedly.

I only have my headset in when i am in a party or private chat with friends, i never have my headset in for games like COD and Halo (left 4 dead is the only game which i do, cause i have to communicate with my team) But, yea That happens, like i can hear people complaining that i suck because i only get like 4 kills in a COD W@W match, while they had a 'mighty' 13 or something kills, but they completely ignored the fact that i did not die (sniping) and they died 15+ times. They don't care for K/D ratio, they care for just Kills.
Yea, and with the reporting thing, it seems that i got 50% of my negative feedback for trash talking, ironic right?
Ha, there was a thing that happened in halo which was almost the same thing, but i won't say it now, too much typing and my hands are cold.

EDIT- I just realized that i didn't answer the question for this thread, yes i do report people if they start to get way over the top, like if its a few snide statements ill ignore it, but if its something that is racist, sexist, homophobic or threatening i will do it and hope that people in the same lobby do it too so that they may get a punishment.

Heck in Cod4/WAW I find revives to be more important then anything. Teamwork=win, atleast in hardcore .

Yes, a common symptom of having a small penis is to trash talk on Xbox Live.

Just remember theyre trying to make themselves feel better for not being as well endowed as ourselves

Meh, it doesn't bother me that much, I'm not all that competitive and it doesn't bother me too much that I'm not the world's greatest COD4 player lol.

It's just unfortunate that thiese idiots probably end up regularly uspsetting more sensitive souls than myself.

Takes all of 3 seconds to mute people who are trashtalking you. The more annoying type are the ones who flood you with inane messages after you've beaten them or gloat after beating you. I find this happens a lot with Fifa 09.
