this looks like if they had done it, it would be one of those things so bad its funny I would Totally watch it

on the subject of batman beyond
man that brings me back
I liked that show my sister (also a big batman fan) hated it but I question as to if she ever watched it, as her whole base for hating it was the fact that the main character was named Terry
as she once said to me "Terry is a wussy name, no one with a wussy name can be batman"

Also has anyone else here seen that new CN show Young Justice? I thought it was Ok but not as good as teen titans

See, this sounds awful when my brother told me about it, but the concept art makes it look a lot more interesting.

Batman: The Animated Series worked pretty well in that they managed to incorporate somewhat mature themes into the show, with the stories feeling like they could actually fit into the world of the comics and films. The writing and animation had appeal that both kids and adults could appreciate.

This, on the other hand, doesn't seem like it wouldn't make any attempt at remotely fitting in with the source material. I can't see them having mature themes or sophisticated writing in a high school setting either. The concept art is rather nice, for what it is, but the idea as a whole just doesn't seem like it would work particularly well.

Oh, and isn't the Penguin a little old to be attending school with Harley Quinn? They should have made him a creepy principal or something. :p

I love how everyone is wondering "HOW WOULD THEY DO VIOLENT STUFF? HOW WOULD THEY CREATE DEOTH FOR THE CHARACTERS?"
seriously, they think this was supposed to be taken seriously, it's adorable...
this was most likely a spoof series, not unlike the Marvel Fairy Tales. idk if it would work i=on tv, but I could TOTALLY see this as a decent web series

this sounds ummmmm interesting.
I think I might have enjoyed this......... IF done right with a pitch black sense of comedy or parody.
But not as a TV series but maybe a web series or something.

Well, I think Batman's big thing was that originally it was an attempt to have another animated show for prime time, aimed at adults. Truthfully I think the Animated series Batman went down hill the longer it lasted, and the more iterations it went through. I don't think it ever got to be "bad" but it definatly became more and more kiddified as time went on. I think the "Brave and the Bold" show (taken from the title of a comics showcase series if I remember) is the ultimate evolution of this, with the show now fully kiddified even if it took many years to get to that point.

As I said earlier, I think I could see how they could have pulled off this whole high school concept, but then again with some of the truely wierd stuff I've read over the years it's not a stretch. I mean if they managed to carry off "Ninja High School" (comic series before the anime/manga craze) for all those years, they could find a way to do something similar with Batman, all my earlier comments about style aside/included. I mean it's been proven that the high school drama format can be adapted to pretty much anything, much like a western. I mean we've had high schools full of super heroes, monsters, marvel mutants, vampire slayers, and everything else through the years with all the teen drama and angst combined with action and fantasy stuff, sometimes played off for ridiculous laughs. I mean heck Ninja High School pretty much took the "Archie" concept but had Betty and Veronica replaced by an alien world conquering super princess, and a ninja princess from a myatical clan of warriors, both of whom wanted to marry him, with the resulting super powered cat fights you'd expect. I believe this was before Tenchi Muyo was even conceived (or at least well before it was known in the US). Doing this with a specific super hero and his rogues gallery seems like it would actually be pretty easy because all of the tropes you'd need already exist.
