You can't remember how long you've needed it. Weeks, months. Years, perhaps? Time is irrelevant when you're life has crumbled to nothing more than each hit. She said this one was different, though. She said it would bring you back, make you normal.

Come on, sweetie. It's not like you have anything to lose?

Pantha's words running through your mind, for what seemed like the thousandth time. Or was she standing next to you, whispering it into your ear, lightning blue whips of hair caressing her every word. It didn't matter, once she gave you that little green pill, nothing would matter.

You pound on her door, the iron reinforcements sending echoes throughout the complex. She lived on the 24th story of a 30 story apartment building, in the middle of the city. Usually home to university students or single parents, Pantha took up residence here for more private matters. She had peddled you from the start, every drug under the sun had passed your lips, your mind begging for them to give you reprieve.

Nothing had worked like this though.

You pounded again, frantically looking behind you. Others were there, all edging to see if she'd open. You didn't know how many people she served, nor how many suffered like you did. You didn't care. All you prayed for was for that door to open, and for that little, green, pill.

This RP will revolve around a handful of characters, all suffering from the same illness. Frequent hallucinations, paranoia, bipolar. Scores of doctors have had you sent to psych clinics, then on to neurologists, and then to laboratories. Nothing they gave you made anything better, and as a result, you had to drop out of University to take care of yourself. Your only escape was drugs, every drug, which you obtained from a girl who goes by the name Pantha.

Your illness started in your late teens, and has progressed since then. Your entire life has revolved around acquiring money for drugs, specifically the green pill, which she was selling at $300 per pill. These pills, which she has named O9, grant you full and utter reprieve for 4-5 days, a break that you covet over all. Due to your physical condition, your work must be from home (or crime), as your undiagnosed mental condition doesn't win you friends in human resources.

Your last pill wore off two days ago, and the hallucinations have started. All you know about the others is they're here for the same reason you are. But for the same drug, is unknown.

This is a serious RP, and is set in modern times. The city isn't important, but I'll be using Brisbane (as that's where I live), for street references and what not. Any criticism or help would be greatly appreciated. This will be done on the forum, with a group set up for OOC.

Name:

Bio: How did you come to Brisbane? When did your illness start? Background info, jobs etc.

Pantha's sheet, for any references made to her. Keep in mind your character will not know her real name or background.

Name: Caroline Atkins

Age: 26

Gender: Female

Nationality: Australian

Appearance: 5 foot 11, fairly pale complexion and medium build. She has her hair dyed electric blue, which is done in a japanese twist at the back, with a few stray whippets here and there. She wears no makeup or lipstick, which doesn't hide the scars of drug abuse and sleepless nights that trace lines across her face. Her eyes are slanted and skeptical, and her nose is crooked from multiple untreated fractures. She usually wears loose, comfortable clothes at home, but when she leaves she wears black jeans, a plain white shirt, and a colourful shoulder bag from Nepal. Caroline wears no jewellery, or expensive clothes, though the attire she does wear is in fantastic condition. She has a crooked smile and stained teeth from coffee and a mixture of drugs.

Bio: Caroline was born in Brisbane to two loving parents and an older brother. Her parents were both in the medical field, her mother a Chemist and her father a Cardiologist. When she was still in high school, her brother went on to study surgery, and the pressure was heaped on to her. Submitting, she took on her Bachelor of Pharmacy at 18, and then acquired her masters at 25. She passed, though not with flying colours. For a number of reasons, her time was divided. Having moved out at 16, she lived with a few of her friends and smoked grass for the majority of their final years of high school. This lead to other drugs, and thus started her addiction. She managed to escape the lifestyle though, and at 20 moved into her current apartment, using money borrowed from her parents. Though she herself had overcome addiction, she still continued to sell, building up a reputable client base, and taking cautious security measures.

Her research into Pharmacy lead to her stumbling into the world of Pre-releases. Drugs that are withheld from the public until proven more effective, or their competitors made obsolete. She attended multiple lectures and conferences under many pseudonyms, building her contact base with the marketers through friendly chat or further measures. As she juggled her false identity with her university, several or so of her buyers had started to complain. It wasn't out of the ordinary, but they were specific, and the more she saw them, the worse they appeared.

Not a heartless girl, she scoured online and off for any hint at this strange illness. She never kept track of their orders, but knew that they had taken nearly everything she could sell. It was then that one of the companies announced O9.

Ever since, she had been selling this specific drug to her clients, buying originally from one of the chem-guys, but then breaking it down and creating it herself.

Personality: Disconnected from years of solitude and interactions with nefarious individuals, Caroline looks out for herself first and foremost. However, by no means a cruel person, she tries to be friendly and sociable when she goes out, and has a few close friends. In a permanent state of semi-apathy, she is crystal calm in the strangest of situations. Drugs have had a slight effect on her logic, leading her to be a lateral and often removed thinker.

Studied?: Pharmacy

Accommodation, if any: Her apartment.

Inventory: In her bag is a flick knife, clutch, car keys, phone, perfume, journal and sunglasses. Her clutch contains a few tabs of acid, 2 grams of cocaine, a sachet of grass and 4 green pills. Along with money, license etc.

I love all my children equally. While two RPs is certainly my maximum, its well under my limit for time. Just keep in mind that I am based in Brisbane, and won't be able to post while I'm asleep. That's the only qualm time-wise.

Hey, you answered me fine just now; it might well work out. What time is it for you at the moment?

7:30 in the morning. Keep in mind I work from 8-4 most days though. It's never been an issue in the past.

No, that was my fault. Double clicking is not recommended. Back on track, this is planned as a fairly long RP, so we won't have ten million posts per day, if you catch my drift. In between story progression is up to the players to interact or figure things out. It'll be slightly ARG at some points, I'll leave clues for people who have a lot of time on their hands.

A challenger approaches!

Name: Kaeko Brockman

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Nationality: Asian-Australian

Appearance: Smooth face, short black hair with the tips dyed lime green, light brown eyes, 5'7", wearing this shirt [http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://media.80stees.com/images/products/20-Percent-Cooler-Rainbow-Dash-Shirt.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.80stees.com/products/Rainbow-Dash-20-Percent-Cooler-Shirt.asp&h=424&w=500&sz=92&tbnid=rbpczyQqNUThGM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=106&zoom=1&docid=FpYk8JaWEsu3OM&sa=X&ei=BAFDT4bhE_C42QWkotnfDA&ved=0CGoQ9QEwBA&dur=2056] under a small sky-blue hoodie and jeans with sneakers. Being a singer/dancer, she's in excellent shape and has a pretty, flowing voice.
When she's trying to lay low, she'll have her hood up and be wearing sunglasses.

Bio: Kaeko was born to a Japanese mother and Australian father, so she speaks English and Japanese. She's hopped around Australia, mostly near Sydney, before settling in Brisbane.

She'd studied and practiced dancing her whole life and always had a nice voice, so she became a stage performer, looking out for whenever she could get a part. She was never quite good enough to be in a starring role, which has been her goal to this day, only made even harder with her illness, which she's done her best to hide. Lately she's been working as a computer technician to pay the bills between parts.

Kaeko's parents, Katsumi and Jason, died in a plane crash when she was 17. She took it really hard, and has since refused to board any plane for any reason.

Her symptoms started when she was 19. Most of her doctors believed it was a delayed reaction to her parents dying so suddenly, since her first hallucinations were planes in the sky spontaneously exploding. The clinical lycanthropy has developed more recently.

Symptoms of illness: Hallucinations, paranoia, clinical lycanthropy [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinical_lycanthropy] (basically, she becomes convinced she's turning/has turned into some sort of beast or animal, not necessarily a werewolf, or even a regular wolf).

Personality: When she isn't suffering from her symptoms, she's a kind person with a friendly smile always at the ready. She doesn't act particularly peppy, but one can tell she has plenty of energy.

She naturally doesn't like doing a lot of the things she has to do to get the money for her "magic pills", which has included breaking and entering.

When her symptoms pop up, she's a lot quieter and notably less friendly. Not rude, but less likely to speak.

Studied: Majored in acrobatics, minored in IT.

Accommodation: Apartment in Brisbane, not in Pantha's building.

Inventory: Standard-blade pocket knife, full wallet, cell phone, wristwatch, small belt-clipped crank-up flashlight, one of those nylon ropes that can fold up into a bracelet.

How's this?

Looks fine to me. So if she doesn't earn enough money by part-time dancing, she steals and sells off? Or is that her main income?
If she doesn't get enough from performing, she has a backup job as an IT tech. If THAT doesn't bring in enough, she goes into petty theft. She tries to avoid stealing anything really big, but it doesn't always work out that way.

Sounds great, no editing needed them :)

I really like the idea. I should have a sheet up sometime in the next couple of days. When will this be scheduled to begin?

Awesomesauce. Is there an age limit on characters? I was thinking of doing some sort of 'troubled writer' in his late twenties/early thirties.

Not especially, though I would stick to around 30ish. Just for the sake of context.

Okie dokie. I'll endeavour to get a sheet in.

By the way, I originally came into this thread expecting to see some sort of comedy-horror RP involving Kevin Bacon. I was a little disappointed, although I like this idea too. = P
