I'm not going to be able to give this thread the attention it needs on a daily basis. They've made some changes at work (layoffs) which means that my worklaod is going to stay at the redline. So if anyone wants to step forward and drive this thing, I can give you all the info to run it. If no one wants to come forward and take over, I'll have to shut it down.

And I was looking forward to when this really got going, too. Well, if absolutely no one else comes forward, I might try to. My schedule is pretty lax right now, so I should be able to get on at least once a day. However, I really hope someone else does it. Perhaps we could postpone it for sometime in the future when you or Qayin can handle it again. Waiting even a few months for it is better than seeing it fizzle out in the middle of a round.

To be honest, I don't see myself picking this back up. In fact, I might just wrap up my current RP obligations and then...take off. Not to go into the whole "This place has changed" oldbie rant but this place strikes me as kind of like a bar that got popular because it was a great place to meet people, but then it got so popular, it's just crammed full of people and nobody can meet anybody any more because it's just too crowded and loud. Sorry guys, but that's how I'm feeling right now, and I don't see it changing.

<spoiler=Mm>I was prone to agree not long ago.. but now I do see it changing. There's hope of an inevitably positive change. I have no problem ignoring what I don't like, and the ones I want to spend time with are still around.. as well as some new ones. Surprising loads of talent has found its way here as well. People leaving makes me sad, especially you, msh. You have been my favourite since the days of the True Battle Arena. It also ruins my thinking of this place affecting new guys positively, which I have seen it do at a massive rate... and that's invaluable. =)

We could always just hand it back to Qayin if his computer troubles are over.
<spoiler=Perhaps>If he is willing. Sick now though, so that would be put on hold in any case.

I think I used to make a difference with the things I wrote, but now I spend time trying to make a point in a thread and 4 posts down, someone restates the same point someone made just a little up the thread and which I refuted just a few posts before. It just feels like there is a lot of posting and too little reading going on anymore. But this is not the place to be discussing this anyway.

Well I can't say I'm happy. I do, however, echo the sentiments expressed by those above. I'll stand by and see what happens.

I mean, come on. It's nothing more than an internet forum. Isn't it possible to just check in every once in a while, maybe take part in a game or two if you feel like it instead of making it an extreme stay-or-leave scenario? Although I do understand how it could feel otherwise if you've been at a place long enough. I've been part of one RP of sorts that's been going on for over two years now. Still, the point is that you don't have to abandon it completely.

<spoiler=Yeah>I don't think many do, but are simply taking a break from it for a while. It might very well return to its usual ways, but one also has to accept that communities have lifespans. This is in its 30's, hating everything new. Right now, it's about what the magazine needs, not the forum. An increased quantity of users also brings many positive changes, such as much talent gathering here and those that are here being affected in a good way. That's invaluable, as I've said before. Anyway, as mshcherbatskaya has said, this is not the place for this discussion. In the event of it returning, don't destroy it with more off-topic talk. Yes, I am aware of the hypocrisy in me saying that, but perhaps my pleading will change someone else's decision to post here about this topic. Thank you.

*waltzes into the room like a greased public relations official*

Screw spoilers.

Msh, i'd be happy to take this little bit of unhappiness off your hands. It would mean restarting at Hollow Pine, but we would all have experience and a plan now. It would give you more time to work on QoH and RW2, and save me making my own RP. If nobody else wants her i'll clean this old girl up for another night on the town.

Between this and my plans to swoop in and save BoR, i feel uncannily like a rather evil businessman. Here's my card and i can start almost immediately. And i'll do it all for free...

Voltaire can finish that line for me, because it's not horror if i don't get paid somehow.

How about in love? Oh, wait, all out.
Despite your derision/triviality, i am determined that i could run this sinking ship out of dangerous waters. Mostly by changing the waters and the ship. It is only an offer, and you may feel free to reject it. But i would urge you to consider it, as i am in no doubt that i can get this thing to take off.

I have a habit of making things awesome when they aren't my creation.

By all means, please take it and revise, revamp, and revive this game. I am old and cranky and stressed out and am doing my own layoffs of sorts, because, like everyone else, I just don't have the resources I wish I had.

When you reboot it (Who ever does the reboot) I would love to join if there is an opening.

I'd join up in the new one too.
Then get your asses ready for a release in the next few days of 'Trepidation 2: Hollow Pine'

There will be blood, and afterwards the fun will start.
