why is infinity ward getting the blame, it's activision that caused this dedicated server fiasco last year anyway.
I have no love lost for Activision, but how does this logic make sense? Activision is Treyarch's parent, too. If Acti had strong-armed IW (its most profitable studio next to Blizzard) into no dedicated servers, then it could certainly do the same to Treyarch.

This just makes it seem more likely that MW2 was IW's decision.

And he is not saying a word about LAN support. Looks to me like a cry for attention.
I noticed that too. I hope they aren't mentioning it because it's a standard that all games should have, again, but I doubt it does.
It hasn't been standard since... 2005? Certainly, if even Stardock's abandoned LAN play [footnote]at least as of Elemental's launch, I've heard that they've finally set up online multilayer for people who didn't want beta updates, so I doubt they have the promised LAN kit out[/footnote], then it's not standard.

6. We decided to add more realistic recoil to the weapons.
And thank you for proving JeanLuc's point. One man's realistic recoil is another man's broken mouse.

"Stastny said that the PC platform was very important to Treyarch, which is why it put together dedicated PC teams for its games. He said that Black Ops was a "true PC title" and that he was "thrilled" to be able to support the PC community with things like dedicated servers and mod tools."

I appreciate the sentiment, but lets be honest this is not a 'true PC title' else it would be using the latest version of DirectX and other stuff that only PC's can do. As it is it will be DX9 probably have only 5.1 sound and will be a pain to get anti-aliasing working. The same level of 'PC support' all titles primarily aimed at the console market have. The comments above are just spin to make us PC gamers feel like we are getting some attention....

But if it is any good, I will still probably pick up a copy. That is how desperate us PC gamers are for a decent FPS for this year......

Simply put, activision saw the sheer carnage that was caused last year, any business would want to avoid that amount of negative coverage. Theres a lot of evidence on the amount of meddling that activision did to IW from trying to get CoD4 to abandon servers and even be set in WW2 (which it wasn't thank god) to holding back paychecks and firing the leads. Activision as a publisher is the most anti developer company I've seen since Apple's App store
