I'm sure a good chuck of us have a small complaints or nitpicks on games we still enjoy regardless.

But what's the most jarring of trivial complaints did you have on a game?

For me, with Skyrim, it was hair color.

See, in Oblivion and Fallout 3, when creating your character, you could give your hair any color you want.

With Skyrim on the other hand, Bethesda decided to go the Mass Effect school of character creation and give you only a small set of hair colors to choose from.

Sure, you PC gamers might not have this problem as I'm sure there are at least 1 or 2 hair color mods out there. But we who are stuck with using consoles, we don't have that luxury.

If I ever see a Bethesda employee, I would ask him "Y U NO KEEP OBLIVION'S CUSTOM HAIR COLOR FEATURE FOR SKYRIM?"

For me it's usually hair styles in games that I have a gripe with. I know you can't have every style but please, add more than just 10 (I'm referring to games like Skyrim and Mass Effect).

Mass Effect ammo system. When the gun overheats, you eject the heat sink so you can continue firing, so that's how they limit ammo. BUT! Why is it when I don't fire, the heat sink doesn't cool down?! Didn't anyone think of that?

I remember the New-U stations in Borderlands 1 being quicker than in borderlands 2, where you need to watch this dumb-ass cutscene where your character gets digistructed. Seriously, who thought that that was a good idea? Probably the guy who okayed the Valkyrie thing from Too Human. Rest of the game is pretty cool though.

In PokePark 1, the 2 button was Dash, and then A button was for Pikachu's thundershock. It made it very easy to use thundershock while dashing and stunning enemies that were running away.

In PokePark 2, the thundershock (or equivalent from Tepig, Snivy or Oshawatt) was changed to be holding down the 2 button, but the 2 button is still dash. This makes it very difficult to basically shoot down a running target because you have to basically come to a stop, then hold the button, and by that time they've already gotten away.

I loved the PokePark games, and PokePark 2 was better than the first one in pretty much every way except that one annoying detail.

Their in-universe explanation is that they sacrificed the heat venting system to make room for the thermal clip ports. That 'upgrade' seems to be sketchy at best, downright stupid at worst, and is thankfully lampshaded by Conrad Verner [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YsGwcnDGaw] in ME3.

The real reason is that the dev team wanted to roll with the whole "limited ammo" system in order to balance out the sweet new guns in Mass Effects 2 and 3. The game would pretty much be broken otherwise once you got your hands on the M-76 Revenant.

I still miss my Snowblind/Frictionless Materials HMWP VII from the first game. That thing never needed to cool down in the first place, sidestepping the whole thermal clip bandwagon and rendering any canon explanation moot.

Borderlands 2- somtimes you jsut want to get from point A to point B without millions of low level enemies bugging you...it gets tedious and you feel burned out before you even get to your mission (granted this only happned a couple of times)

Was going to post this exact thing more or less.
Also feel the game is a tad bit too long for it's own good.

Torchlight 2: The host of a server can't kick players, the 'kick player' option starts a vote to kick them instead. A guy with hacked gear joined my game and started sprinting ahead killing all the enemies in one shot and basically ruining the entire experience. I said to him "why join a coop game if you are just going to run ahead and ditch everyone? No one is impressed." He replied "keep up" to which I came back with "Keep up with this!" and clicked the kick player button... then I had to wait around awkwardly for about a minute waiting for the other player in the game to vote him out as well.

They did: that's the system they used in Mass Effect 1.

I was kind of miffed by how you couldn't aim in Saint's Row 1 unless you had a Sniper Rifle. By which I mean...like in SR2 you can click the right stick and focus. Not in SR1. Also in SR3 you can't pick and choose your socks.

NHL13 - the fact that if the other team in an online EASHL drop-in match bail due to my team winning as I dont get the recorded win, stats, etc. Sure, they get marked as having d/c'd but that really doesn't bother them, whereas me not getting the stats affect my levelling up. Very annoying feature of an otherwise enjoyable game!

Funny thing - they thought of it in the first game. Then they changed it to standard reloading. Somehow, technology went backward in the two years Shepard was dead. Probably to make it more like Gears of War.

OT: Dota 2. It's obvious even from playing only a few games there's a lot of game in there. But with the heroes - why are some of them referred to by their title, and others by their name? Why so inconsistent?

Batman Arkham City, restarting a challenge takes far too long.

To me its a near perfect game though.

Chuck Greene/Frank West´s runnig speed in Dead rising 2/off the record. It has ALWAYS bothered me.

I mean, when you are in a zombie apocalypse setting you usually DONT go around running (More like JOGGING) at turtle speed everywhere. You are suppused to RUN!!!... Granted, its not like the zombies in that game are a real threat, but it still bothers me for the sheer time it takes to get to any place at all. It gets (somewhat) better when you upgrade the speed skills... too bad in this game when you level up you cant choose WHAT to level up, its completly random (ok it follows some sort of pattern, but its still kind of random), so better hope luck is on your side. It gets A LOT better when you learn to make Quicksteps (basically an item that makes you go 3 times faster for 60 secs or so) thougt.

In fact, this game may be the reason I kinda hate it when a game dosnt have a run button if the running speed it slow. I have been trying dungeon defenders a little bit as of now, and I am already hating on it because the characters move. So. Damn. SLOWWWWWWW. Oh well at least you can actually upgrade speed whenever you want on this game.

Left 4 dead: I hate the fact that AI specials infected are able, can and WILL use their claws on you even if you did bash them. Pretty stupid when a Hunter does this in Expert, anyone who plays that game knows what I am talking about, 40 points of health down because the game thougt it was fun to screw with you=FAIL.

Other than that both are nice games.

This is beyond petty but in LoL they changed the name of Lux's ultimate from Finales Funkeln to Final Spark. I'm reasonably sure FF is German for Final Spark or Final Sparkle so it doesn't really matter. FF just fits with her bubbly head-in-the-clouds teenage girl persona.
