Personally, I don't mind trolls, I occasionally indulge in trolling, and I can see why they do it. The fun you get from watching someone get steadily more angry as you screw around with them is hard to convey. That said, I do have my limits, and the limits to which I find other people trolling funny. In general, I don't mind as long as it's vaguely clever and not just saying the opposite of what their victim is saying or seriously mentally injuring the victim.

What do you think about trolls and how often/do you troll?

I don't troll and I don't like them either.

It can very, very occasionally be amusing when you get people who do not realise they have been trolled, but more often than not they are just plain obnoxious and annoying.

If u want to troll u can go on /b/. I like to think the escapist is a place for people who like forums but want to avoid trolls.

If their points were semi-intelligent it would be different, but most of them are idiots and will say things so ridiculous that there is hardly any point in even acknowledging them.

I fucking hate trolls. Chasing me through The Great Forest of Cyrodiil like a bunch of jerks... Wait, you mean internet trolls? Yeah, I don't mind them too much.

To quote the demotivational poster, "trolling is a art". Watching people get riled by an intelligent troll is hilarious and one of the main reasons I frequent forums, even though I don't do it myself (not smart enough to be a good one sadly).

I think it's pretty childish. But so are a lot of things people enjoy. I don't give a shit.

Don't engage in it myself. I make people plenty angry without trying.

I don't think simply f'ing with people should be considered trolling, especially if it's clearly all in good fun. This should be differentiated from the real trolls, the ones who quote parts of your post out of context, ignore the ones they can't debate, and call your argument a "strawman fallacy" (a contradiction of terms) instead of actually debating it, and say things like "Hahahahahahahahahaha your so dum" instead of actually engaging you in the discourse.

This is nothing at all like jumping into a random kid's anime forum to ask "Is this Yu-Gi-Oh!?" or answering the thread "I have 1600 Microsoft points. What should I do with them?" with the answer, "Dude, you gotta get Super Mario Brothers: The Lost Levels. If you beat it 64 times in a row you totally get to see Samus' boobs."

I don't even know why people do this. I have a friend who goes to /b/ often. While he is quite nice in person (sometimes a dick though), he get amazingly antagonistic when I chat with him on the internet. Really puts me off. According to him, he trolls quite often.

I like trolling if it's done well, with style... I occasionally troll. Not often anymore

I hate Trolls.

Even the 'clever' ones. I mean seriously how is that even a compliment? Congratulations! You are above average when it comes to being a dick.

Very much this.
Trolling can be done elsewhere if you have some pathological need to. I like to use this place as a bit of a relaxing recreational area where I don't have to constantly deal with morons and dickwads.

In all honesty, i enjoy watching people getting more and more pissed off as the glowing red ball of hate passes back and forth between the people involved, but i cant really instigate something like that without my conscience rearing up and giving me a stern talking to....

When trolling's done well (by which I just mean intelligent and sarcastic points) it may not be the friendliest way of holding a conversation, but I don't mind it too much. I only get bothered by trolls when they act like idiots without anything meaningful to say: there's a reason we call these discussion boards.

Can be kind of entertaining if done well.

There was a thread here a while back titled 'So tell me, Halo fans...', which was actually a question on Nihilism. Obviously no answer was expected, but the number of people who piled in to defend their beloved franchise based on thread title alone was astounding. As was the number of people who piled in to denigrate said franchise.
The idea of it made me laugh.

You have to sorts of trolls, original ones and annoying ones. The original ones are ocasionaly funny, the annoying ones are just what their names suggest.

Worst looking race ever in my opinion. They have gigantic feet and arms, the male troll's noses are way too big. They speak in a fairly annoying Jamaican accent. No armor actually looks good on them because the males are like Quasimodo and the females have their shoulders dislocated. I would never choose a troll as my main character, even if Blizzard did improve the existence of their lore in the Warcraft universe.

Wait, am I missing something here?
