I'm a regular user of the internet. I come on to check my e-mail and go through stuff on Facebook and The Escapist. At these places everything is normally fine and dandy. But when I log on to places like Youtube, watch something from Collegehumour that I find generally unfunny and voice my opinion, I suddenly find myself with 12-30 messages in my inbox all from people trying to be funny with taking jabs at my mentality and whether I'm a homosexual or not (for the record, I am hetero, and I believe in gay rights). That said, why is that the below average intelligence people have access to the internet; let alone a computer? I mean, if they were a little bit nicer than everything would be fine and dandy for me everywhere. But due to the whole anomynous thing, they can get away with anything from mockery to death threats. Is there any reason why these emotionally and psychologically unsound people are on the internet? Are therapists think this is best thing to do for them (note, I'm just going on assumptions here, I know some of these people have brains and are somewhat stable, still doesn't mean I shouldn't include them for being trolls)? So I have to ask, what can be done about these people? Can we look into something about asking for real moderators that will possibly kick these people off the site? Maybe a point system where the more votes down you get, the more likely you are not to be able to comment on some issues, and vice versa for votes up? All I know though is that trolls will be trolls, there'll never be a day when we're not dealing with them, but I still hope for one sometimes.
