I thought it was good, actually. The soundtrack was more meh, in my opinion than most people seem to have. The story seemed like it was trying to be too mobile, never emphasizing the events enough, almost like I remember the original Tron being.

But everything was very well done, and it was fun to watch.

EDIT: But what does my opinion matter? I am neither a mover, nor a shaker in the movie industry.

Script was alright nevertheless I still enjoyed the film with my friend due to [sub]refer to bottom of post[/sub]the 'action' scenes and setting.

The only criticism I have for the story is that it is far too similar to the original Tron. Besides that, it was great.

I give it a 4 out of 4.

Your post sounds like a CopyPasta job...

The original movie wasn't all that great...most folks just have too big nostalgia glasses on to realize this.

The new movie is fun...it's not some uber deep movie but it is a lot more so than the original.

You've got issues dealing with responsibility, your past catching up with you and what it means to be human.

The original movie is about some dude who wants to get revenge on a guy who stole is work.

I actually really liked it. I have a friend who loves the original that I'm a hypocrite for being a fan of both movies, but what can I say? I liked the central characters, I loved the visuals, I really loved the soundtrack, the only thing I really have to beat the movie over the head for was not having a very good plot.

The story was definitely meh, but having it with all the shinier things that modern movie tech allows definitely made it look cooler. More fight scenes would have been good to capitalize on that.

Plus, cameo by Daft Punk, come on!

The girl was awesome, I would really want one of those.
The movie however was more or less flashy meaningless sh*t, all the moral issues were really on the level of kiddy cartoons, it was just your standard Hollywood movie.

screw you i loved it.
Not the best response to someone not liking something I've ever seen.

Anyway, I wasn't a big fan of it my self, the graphics were good and the music was good but everything else was a big MEH to me. The only character I liked was Quorra, the story was a mess, the characters were forgettable and it was like looking at a picture with part of is missing. It could have been a good movie if it focused on less things then it did. Granted I saw TRON after I saw Black Swan but still.

I could care less about the relatively cliche story when there were visuals and music as stunning as that.
It wasn't exactly meh for me. I loved it. Not the best, acting/characters/story wise, but definately didn't suck at all.

I enjoyed it, but...

I watched the original Tron directly afterward. The movie made 99% more sense, and I enjoyed the original way more.

D: I really enjoyed it. I saw the original and enjoyed that, too, so maybe I'm predisposed to bright lights :3

It depends on expectations.

For me, it's about what i expected.
I loooove the first Tron, but it's deeper themes are highly overrated and i like it more for it's creative cheesyness.

The second one, while not being as fun concept-wise, had a much tighter pacing (Tron 1 is sometimes just boring), brings in new cheesy ideas, and makes about as much sense as the first one, wich is not much.
That said, thanks to being a more conventional movie, it lacks some of the fun and escapism-angle of the original. But it has a nice soundtrack and some fun actors to make up for it, so yeah, worth a watch in my opinion

I was entertained but disappointed.

The film had the opportunity to explore the ways that modern technology advanced, especially in the areas of networking (Hi Internet), the proliferation of personal computers and the huge increase in the popularity of videogames. I expected way more than a weird, pointless "alien AI" story based around a copy of the first film's main character. And Jeff Bridges looked creepy as hell as her younger self in that scene at the beginning.

That was my first disappointment.

The second came because I recognized Bruce Boxleitner (the actor that played the original Tron) as the old guy that gives young Flynn the keys to the old arcade. I expected through the entire movie that there would be a reveal at the very end that Tron had already crossed over and was, in fact, this guy. That would have satisfied me.

But no. They turned Tron into a wannabe Grey Fox and ruined his character. Bah.

I loved it... It wasn't the greatest but it was one of the most entertaining films of the year in what was a pretty shitty year for movies.

Epic Movie... Now that's a movie that truly sucks. If you wanna lump Tron:Legacy with films like that then I won't respect any critique you have for it...

the hell are you talking about?!? I mean sure the movie was not the greatest by ANY means(a few big plot holes and questions unanswered when the credits hit, plus some bad dialogue and a mis-cast lead) and in the grand scheme of cinema its not likely to be seen as a movie that broke ground or anyting...but thats all besides the point....sucked is taking it to far in my view...The movie visually(apart from the uncanny valley that CLU sat in) left me very impressed, the soundtrack(Daftpunk FTW) and the costars/supporting cast(Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde, etc) all did a fantastic job and helped to bring the movie up by either a half or whole star to a solid 4 out of 5. Hell even going on 4 months later I've still got a Tron Legacy wallpaper as my official background( O. Wilde being in it in character as Quorra..doesn't hurt matters)
