Trouser Snakes on a Plane

I was just browsing my news feed, and found this:

Basically, a guy on a flight from Boston to LA was masturbating on the plane, and the plane had to make an unscheduled landing after the guy tried to open the emergency exit door mid-flight.

Any thoughts? I just thought I'd share this story.

Man, the things the flight attendants have to deal with. What a nightmare.

Seems like the guy has/had serious mental issues. Kind of unfortunate that that happened during flight but shit happens.

Those are anxiety issues - both masturbation and attempting to leave a plane while it's in flight.

Well, the only explanation I can think of is that he thought he was in his house. So yep, I suppose all isn't well in his mind.

Too much information is missing to make an informed decision. If the guy is that out of control it seems unlikely that he would have been able to purchase tickets, and then board a plane. I say this because nowadays it's not just a matter of swiping a credit card and heading to the waiting area/boarding ramp, there is security in the way, and they keep an eye on nearly everything looking for aberrant behavior. I notice the word "alleged" used in this so that leads me to believe that claims were being made but there is no evidence this guy was masturbating. The lack of Air Marshal involvement (I could be wrong but I believe all planes now need to have one on board) also makes me somewhat skeptical.

That said, it warrants an investigation.
