I have zero clue why this song gets my juices flowing but I adore this song and I will blow out my damn speakers every time this song comes on.
I've never been a big Fallout Boy fan (though I've never hated them like some) but this song made me go out and purchase their newest CD. I am in love with this freaking song. The fast paced beat and the nature of the lyrics makes it a perfect work-out song...
I'm going to get arthritis headbanging to that. Overplayed, sure, but I can't help but sing it anyway. Been in love with this song since elementary school. I feel nostalgic every time I hear that intro. What made that even worse was that when Underoath broke up this year, it was the last song they played together. -wipes tears- moving on. Now, this one just gives me chills every time I play it in the middle of the night (in a good way). That vocal sample just gets me for some reason. Foo Fighters because Foo Fighters. Just an amazing buildup to a drop that makes me want to walk into a club with doves flying behind me (because doves make you look like a badass). This sorta falls into the Underoath 2000's screamo/post-hardcore nostalgia goggles, but fuck you, it's still a good song.
BEHOLD. OUR PROPHET.
HE WILL DELIVER US FROM EVIL, AND SHOW US THE WAYS OF THE PARTY.
So, uh... anyone else watch this rather goofy show in their formative youth?
I was only like, what, nine or ten when the show was on. I wasn't actually allowed to watch it. I always had to keep the remote close at hand and flick over to Nickelodeon or something if my parents walked in.
Anyway, that was one of the battle themes. They had another one they used for regular fights, but when shit was getting truly real they'd bust out this one. It always gave me the chills because, (a) it's kind of awesome and (b) it signified that prodigious amounts of arse was about to be righteously kicked.
In retrospect, it could have done without the "dom dom dom" bit.
The sounds the Timesplitters make. I get off on those sounds... "DAI-nic!" "Ynnoink!" "Grssss." all of which sound alien and disconcerting. Headsprouter/Insect mutant noises are an honourable mention. Psssuui!
In terms of a song making me feel complete joy, there are a few recent ones that never fail to put a smile on my face. For one and two, some of Area 11's music is so good for making me happy.
And some of the Ni No Kuni soundtrack is just so beautiful.
And for nostalgic musical squees, nothing is better for me than some of the original Pokemon stuff.
