Turns out I have a good reason for being bad at Halo Reach

I generally prefer about a 3-4(Medium-Medium high) depending on the game. This helps me keep a stable grip for more accurate shooting, but reaction time is slowed.

I KNOOOOW! I always take home the "most sliding" award. Partially because I do way more sliding than I should, also because any other award would have to be condescending...like: most times reloading the LMG after only firing 15 rounds because you're in idiot, or most times accidentally switching to stealth mode in the middle of a battle, instead of armor mode like a normal person.

As a side note, despite routinely sliding and spraying towards a drop pod, I have yet to kill someone whilst sliding, be killed by a slider, see a sliding kill, or talk to anybody who's seen it happen. Anybody else?

If it makes you feel better, I can't shoot anyone with a controller. Not since the days of Goldeneye 64. Keyboard and mouse are the only way I can go.

Sensitivity is important, some people can handle sluggish sensitivity I can't, I prefer to run around twitching like a counter strike player on crystal meth

Most games I have a positive K/D ratio and I play on the default. I usually am top or second top as well. I can see where it can be helpful (And I could probably ALWAYS have positive K/D ratio AND be on top) but I can't bring myself to it now.

..Sensitivity for me is always turned up high. Not maxed, but about 7 or 8.

I use aiming for covering distance, and I strafe left and right for more precision since it's generally slower when using iron sights/scopes.

Works out pretty well. Even works great on PC, no matter what kind of mouse you have.

General rule of thumb with shooters is to check the sensitivity, then jack it up to 11 and get used to it. Low sensitivity is killer for snipers in CoD. People actually sprint faster than your can aim if you don't change your sensitivity.

2????? It was set to 2??? How the hell could you aim with that. Mine is always at 1. Always. Any higher and my camera will blast all around the screen.

^though the above was a bit overdone, I do infact play on 1. I'd rather be able to accuratly place my shots without missing then spin 360 degrees in a half a second.

I have three different sensitivity settings for TF2...scout/pyro, soldier/heavy, and Sniper.
BC2 also has 3 for the different vehicles.
Would hate to play with only one setting...cough...

I'm always on about 6. Anything lower feels too slow, anything higher feels too fast.

Fun fact: it used to be 5, but after playing the HL2 saga on the PC I found my skills at controlling at a higher-sensitivity had magically gotten better. Even if I could only handle that silly, hyperactive mouse on low sensitivity.

I wouldn't mind that at all. It means these level 50 dickbags would be vulnerable for a few seconds when they switch back and forth if they want to gyroscope around a base with a 'copter at a thousand miles an hour and constantly dump rockets on it.

OT: Yeah, I'm an assault-rifle-for-life guy because I used to play entirely on low sensitivity during my formative years with FPSes, and that made it the most useful weapon a guy could have in the longish-range firefights I preferred, since having someone get up close and personal was a fairly helpless situation in terms of maneuvering. That's to say nothing of the fact that I was also generally a shit sniper (probably for the exact same reason). Around the time I started playing COD4 online (a great while after its release), I decided I was good enough to not completely jank the sights past my targets, so I cranked the sensitivity and suddenly discovered why anybody in their right mind would want to use shotguns or SMGs.

Wait, there's a turn speed option on halo:reach?

I've refrained from changing anything on the controls (except from the default mode to boxer) just so I don't screw something up badly that I can't play with it.

I can't talk about Halo: Reach as I haven't played it, but in all the other Halo games, the first thing I did was set sensitivity to max, it's a habit of mine. It's much easier on PC since my mouse automatically sets games to the equivalent of 2500dpi, makes this much easier with high sensitivity.
I also play Osu! as practice... and because I like JPop.

I managed a sliding kill once... And it was glorious

Sliding down one of the ramps on Parking Deck when a guy was at the bottom it was more luck than anything else since i was already sliding and in SMG range when he noticed me

Speaking of condescending awards, i always get Drunk and Disorderly on Crysis 2 (play after 11:15 PM and get in the bottom 3 3 games in a row) because my connection has a heart attack after 30 minutes whenever i play at "normal" times and i'm blaming my tiredness (and fondness for sliding) for my sucky performance

Also the Cloak is never as good as you think it is... DX

Pretty much the first thing I do in any fps is try and get the same sensitivity as I have in Half life 2/Tf2/Left 4 dead.
Exactly...
