Two of my favorite games on N64 are getting enhanced graphics remasters on PC. Thanks to Night Dive Studios, the team that was working incredibly hard to resurrect No Lives Forever 1 and 2 for us, but were unable to due to licensing conflicts.

Loved Turok 1 and 2 on N64, best FPS controller setup I ever saw. I enjoyed 2 the most, I played it near obsessively, I can't wait for this release.

Release dates were not announced, but both games will be available to buy through Steam, the Humble Bundle store, GOG, GamersGate, Green Man Gaming, and through the Night Dive Studios website.
What other N64 games would anyone like to see remade for PC with enhanced graphics? I would throw all my money at the company that brought the N64 version of Conker's Bad Fur Day to the PC, not that Microsoft, XBox abomination.

I dunno, I always thought the Turok games sort of felt like all sizzle, no steak.

They had phenomenal weapons, ultra creative bad guys, and great settings, but they were hampered by the pea soup fogging (2 got a little better at this, but it was still bad) and level design that was often really tedious, especially considering you often times had to complete certain objectives, and if you didn't do them all it restarted you from the beginning of the level.

Still, if it's cheap I'll pick it up, just to give the old cerebral bore and firestorm cannon a go.

As for N64 games, a remaster of Shadows of the Empire would be welcome.

I agree with Lauri that it sounds like a nice idea. I loved the second game to bits. I only hope that it comes out the gate nice and stable. I hope it controls well, too, since my only gripe with the Seeds Of Evil was the hideous N64 aiming.

Oh please don't come out like New & Tasty. Don't change the fucking lighting and designs.

Well, if they don't screw it, I'd like all N64 games o get an upgrade by these people.

You do realize that those games were released on PC back then too?

I would assume these will be up-scaled versions of the old PC version made to run properly on modern systems.

No. The idea is to engine port them using the same tech as Doom 64 EX. While it would be nice to see shiny, remastered versions of Turok 1 & 2, I'd personally like to see a remastered version of Turok 3 for PC that fixes the bugs, restores some of the cut content, that sorta thing.

What is this Doom 64 EX? Doom 64 being my favorite doom and all I am intrigued.

I preferred Turok 2 over the first one, it really isn't even a fair comparison to me. I liked the weapons in the first one quite a bit though especially the Tec Arrows that explode on impact.

Except for Rage Wars, all the other later titles I hated. The enemy aimbots of #3, the randomly disappearing weapons between levels of #4, and the WTF why does this even exist of the PS3 one.

This is actually hilarious for me. I literally just picked up a copy of Seeds of Evil at a yard sale today. I was gonna pop it in and play it, but I might actually hold off on it for now.

So you're telling me I'll get to play one of my favorite N64 games on my PC with updated graphics, better controls, and the potential for local and/or online multiplayer?

Oh, man. So much nostalgia. I'm almost giddy at the thought of hearing the sound of a cerebral bore drilling into my opponent's skull again.

That....says a lot about me, doesn't it?

I'm all for that. A PC remaster of Conker's Bad Fur Day would be fantastic. Hell, while I'm at it, why not a remaster of all of Rare's N64 titles? Banjo Kazooie, Diddy Kong Racing, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Jet Force Gemini, etc.

Personally, I'd be all for a PC remaster of Super Smash Bros. The first one is still my favorite in the series (only just edging out Melee) and I'd love to see it with a graphical face lift.

I wouldn't mind watching the cerebral bore work at 1080p 60fps. I never actually owned either game, but I played them both a lot on a friends N64. I don't think I finished either as I always found them really difficult as a kid.

I remember Turok 2 having some really fun themes and settings as you jump from world to world fighting unique enemies. What I most remember is the awesome arsenal of weapons, especially the bow with delayed explosives arrows that make enemy Dino men dance around in a panic.

Sweet. Can't remember which one let you play as monkey. Or if it did at all. Been awhile, perhaps I'm thinking of Timesplitters. At any rate, I am down for this. Though I was a bigger fan of the comics.
