Thanks to the world cup, my tv's got more use in the last few days the in the year preceding it. But normally, no, I almost never use the thing anymore. It's so nice to be able to watch whatever episode of a show I feel like, whenever I feel like, but at the same time, it does sometimes feel like something has been lost. I never discover new shows anymore. I always just hear about them after they've been on for a while. And most shows I do watch are from the first to the last episode, watching each one consecutively, never rewatching anything. It didn't used to be that way. I'm not complaining. The times are a-changin I suppose.

Nay I went back to my parents house and holy shit cable is a massive ripoff, I likely have more screen restate than most people with cable but no cable service. All I have is Netflix, Amazon Prime and shows on disk or downloaded. It is cheaper easier and has far less ads.

T.V? You mean the giant video game box? I can't watch cable, it's flat out one of the worst story telling mediums ever devised. Film can, sometimes, make something good. I'll stick with games and novels. Book master race for life!

About the only time I ever watch TV anymore is on Saturdays and if a movie is on I want to watch. Otherwise fuck that, most of the crap on TV these days is crap.

Am I the first one to mention DVR? That magic little box that allows you to watch anything on tv without commercials and whenever you want it after it has aired? There's a decent deal of watchable stuff on channels without commercials as well. I don't even dislike commercials that much, but when the breaks keep on going and going and going...

and going...

I watch Mythbusters once a week... sometimes.

Other than that, I'd rather do pretty much anything else. The lack of engagement from watching TV (or even many Youtube videos) drives me insane.

I haven't had cable since 2004. I do watch some TV shows on the internet though.

I don't watch TV that much, I just use it for my games consoles. If there are any TV shows that I want to watch I will just go on Netflix or I will have them on DVD/Blu ray.

I don't watch too much TV live, but I record a bunch of shows on DVR to watch at my leisure. And if a sports game that I like is on, or a movie that I want to watch, I'll put it on. I'd say I get enough mileage out of my TV to justify the price.

There are only a few things on TV that I actually watch these days, but I never actually watch them on TV in the traditional sense. If I'm watching something on TV it's either a DVD/Bluray or it's just because I'm streaming it via my PC or PS4 and I want the benefits of the bigger screen. Even if it's from an actual traditional TV channel I'll be streaming it from the web and not actually watching it via standard broadcast.

I never watch TV (Can't afford to what with the BBC TV License and all...) and the only TV Programmes I watch are Doctor Who, Mock the Week and Russell Howard's Good News. All of which I catch on I-Player after they've been broadcast. Otherwise it's just watching stuff on Youtube for me.

I only use a television set for games nowadays, and occasionally for watching movies. I can't remember the last time I turned on a television with the intent to watch a program. I only follow online shows at this point, and honestly, even all the big shows that people love don't hook me.

In between games and all my internet surfing, the days of watching TV I have to pay for is gone for me. I guess it's nice to know that is one less expense I will not have when I move out.

no I don't watch telly anymore, every channel seems to be flooded with nothing but crap reality shows. That or pop idol factor or whatever it is called nowadays.

I watch TV for sports. That's about it. Even if I do use the TV, it's usually something I've recorded in advance so that I can skip the commercials (nothing kills the mood of Hannibal like a commercial for about Disney Land).

I dont watch free to air tv anymore. A majority of the channels are reality shows, reruns that dont interest me or infomercials. On the rare occasion that there is something to watch, its so heavily broken up by commercial breaks that I lose interest.

That said, I do own an Apple TV that I use to stream shows which I have bought (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Hannibal etc).

A little whenever I pop at home. Since the two-week backlog is gone with the cable deal, I watch practically none - I used to pick choice series and start a week back or so.

I have a TV but it's not plugged into anything but my PS3 and a media device. Why the hell would I want to watch a documentary, movie, or TV show that I've downloaded on a dinky 24" computer monitor when I can sit on the couch or lay in bed and watch them on a proper TV.
