Fallout 3: Liam Neeson, 50's music and post-apocalyptia all mix well to make a fantastic game. Fans of One and Two, however, stay away.

Far Cry 2:

Beautiful fire, fun open world, zebras but no elephants, psychotic truck driving locals, disjointed story, many different options, hold left-handed guns with your right hand :S

ahh hell, over-ran by a few words... 23 words is less then it sounds

Two Worlds: Abysmal, why did I buy it? Painful voice acting. I think I'll go put my head in a blender now, it's that bad.

 

[Time Travelling Toaster]

Prototype: Evolve, kill things, kick down helicopters, do a mission, wreck a base. Find a target for WoI and lather, rinse, repeat.

Gears of War 2.
Macho men who can regenerate wounds through their sheer manliness fighting bulky monsters. Guns, chainsaws and lots of blood, overall a delightful romp.

Fable 2.
Hey look it's a doggy! A doggy who can fetch balls and dig up condoms and stuff, growl at monsters, and do back-flips.

Bioshock.
A dark look at the objectivist philosophy taken to it's extreme, fantastic art design and c'mon, you can shoot bees from your hand!

The Sims 3: Nothing is new. If you liked the first and second and feel the need for enhanced graphics and slightly more features, buy it.

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening: Interesting brother vs. brother conflict, kickass soundtrack, some dodgy graphics, great levels but you see them all twice, incredibly sublime combat, buy it.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem: Fantastic plot over several time periods, good puzzling, nice magical attacks, very immersive thanks to brilliant sanity system - oh no! The wall's bleeding!

X Blades: Terrible voice acting, worse characters, terrible/god awful controls. When I think of it I put it in the same context as Sonic.

Mass Effect: Space Age Adventure featuring a sex scene with either a hot human chick or a hot blue chick you bone. You see bewbs.

Halo: a solid trilogy that combines fun shooting action, descent story and amazing music and amazing multiplayer makes for one hell of a trilogy.

Quake

So the good news about Quake: it's "full 3D", as opposed to Doom which I suppose is now "fake 3D" though noone bothered to notice until past inception.

Sims 3: better than the original, similar to the second but the gameplay is enhanced by an open world. Burglars are still bloody annoying however.

World of Goo - Highly amusing novel game. Quite addictive and very clever concept. Worth the buy as it?s also Indie so money goes to the creator.

Spore: Create creatures but not for long, reinvent the controls at each stage, reach the space age and find yourself longing for simpler days.

Silent Hill 2: Average gameplay, but clever riddles, excellent graphics (for the time) and an emotional storyline and characters mean it doesn't matter. Best game ever.
