Disclaimer: If anyone is offended by this or considers is useless, I will delete this, I don't want to incur anyones wrath.

I want to start this thread to see how creative people can be. The objective here is to create stories with twist endings; be it in a movie, a game, a book, or any other form of media. It can range from a man in a horror film waking up in a bed, only to realize that the last 2 hours have been a dream and that he is still in the creepy town, to the level of Keyser Söze. I'll start with this:

Imagine a WW2 game where you play as the Japanese. You start with a short goodbye to your wife and 2 kids before you go off to basic training (the tutorial). Once training is done, you get shipped to one of the secondary supply islands that acts as a refueling/repair station for the Imperial Navy, helping repair ships and tend to the wounded. In this time you meet with other people in your platoon and form a bond/connection with them (this segment is around 2 hours). Once you do this, you get shipped to Iwo Jima where you must defend against the imperialist American warmongers. There would be an insane amount of propaganda going around he base (you must even attend a meeting explaining your ?final mission? (both hare Kari and banzai). Then the assault starts ?Letters from Iwo Jima ? style.

As history dictates, you loose the war. There is a 3-minute cutscene where your wife is informed of your death, and the camera floats to the sky?
?To show that your vantage point in the Enola Gay. Press X to drop the bomb.

I'd like to hear replies to this, or other stories you can come up with. I will make more stories if this thread is favorable to the community.

Your princess is in this castle.
The cake is the truth.
This wasn't a triumph.
It was Lupus after all.

I've said this in another thread already but... If Master Chief is really Chuck Norris... That would actually get me to play halo just to see that...

Just once, I'd like to see the bad guys win in a fantasy novel.
Like, they just romp all over the good guys, and then put their heads on pikes or use them as bowls to eat their cereal with or something.

And what would happen if someone would actually help you save the world at a slight inconvenience to them self without making you run a go fetch quest that take hours.

The doctor is dead.
The man who is easily hurt is responsible for the accidents.
THEY'RE ACTUALLY ALIENS AND THEY'RE HURT BY WATER.
It's a group of people living in the 70s trying to stay away from modern times.
It's a real life fairy tale and the supor is the key.
Plants are forcing humans to kill each other.
AVATAR MOVIE.

That's a brilliant idea. You'd have the moral choice of whether or not to drop the bomb which can offer different endings as well. Or the game could continue in different directions depending on the situation
Yes, this is the continuation... here we go

If you drop the bomb, you see it from George Caron's PoV and witness the destruction. You would then zoom down to Earth, and be Tsutomu Yamaguchi.

If you don't you would get an alternate ending (to history) and be an alternating soldier; from either an American paratrooper or a Japanese sniper where they would meet at the end...

Note: For the ending read "The Lady and the Tiger"

Also, how do you "spoiler" things?

A typical fantasy story. Hero's quest, sadness, almost losing only to defeat the evil lord in a climactic fight atop a destroyed and flaming castle. Then, once all that is complete, everyone realizes that no one knows to run the kingdom/country/world and that, despite his tyrannical rule, the old king was probably the only one keeping things running. Then, years of famine/civil war/being attacked by encroaching hordes/general suckiness caused by being leaderless, most of the population dies and the hero is remembered as the one who started the worst age of the nation.

Mario, Portal, Still Alive (from Portal), and House, respectively. I am proud of myself for getting those.

My ending:
LOST, final episode.
Jack: "Kate, we've got to hurry! The ship could explode at any moment!"
Kate: "But Jack, where will we go? The aliens turned the entire planet into a wasteland, and Skynet will annihilate any living creature that dares venture above the ground!"
Jack: "Don't worry, Kate. We'll be all right, as long as we have our secret weapon."
Kate: "Secret... weapon?"
Jack: "Kate, do you trust me?"
Kate: "Of course!"
Sawyer: "Will you two hurry up? The self-destruct sequence is accelerating, and the veloceraptors are right behind us!"
Jack: "What we're doing is more important than that! Kate, I need you to believe, like you've never believed before!"
Kate: "Anything for you, Jack."
Jack: "All right. Take my hand, and think of the most wonderful thing you can."
Kate: "OK, I've got it..."
Jack: "Now this is going to be strange, but I need you to kiss me. Because you see, Kate, the secret weapon... is love."
*Jack and Kate, in what seems certain to be their last act, share a passionate kiss that sets both their souls on fire. The love streaming from them, however, unlocks an ancient and mysterious power that makes the very air around them crackle with untapped energy*
Smokey: "The power... I can feel it!"
Ben: "It's... beautiful..."
*A rift begins to open, and a strange new vista expands before our heroes' eyes. Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Smokey, Ben, Locke, Zombie Charlie, and Hurley hurry through as the cries of reanimated dinosaurs draw closer, along with alien war chants*
Jack: "AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!"
*The cast is ripped molecule from molecule and reassembled in this brand new world. They stand on the edge of a canyon vaster than anyone had ever imagined possible. The atmosphere seems charged with a strange new feeling - hope. A figure shrouded in light steps forward and comes gradually into focus*
Jack: "I think this is our destiny - this is the person who will bring to us ultimate happiness and end all our troubles!"
*As the figure approaches, it gradually takes form as a human male, somehow radiating a feeling of ease and calm*
Locke: "I... I think I know this man!"
Jack: "No, it can't be..."
Kate: "It is!"
Steve Jobs: "Welcome to the wonderful world of apple!"
Hurley: "Oh, s**t".
*LOST*

You should read the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson.

Except, they worship the (dead) hero as a god anyway. And it works out in the end. (Last 10 pages of book thre...)
