Ever since Assassin's Creed 2 I was certain Machiavelli was a secret Templar spy. His real life extreme anti-freedom ideology seemed completely incompatible with the assassins. They even made it totally look like he was a Templar in Brotherhood only to find out he wasn't at the last minute. I was shitting bricks. Anyone have a similar moment in gaming?

Mine would probably be in Red Dead Redemption's undead nightmare, I was half expecting that it would be John himself, as he seems to be immune to the curse, who was causing the zombification, as a sort of Karmic payback, where everything he had worked for went down the toilet. of course that didnt turn out how it was, and it was instead about some mask or something, i dunno, i should really play that again..
