Alright, so, I just finished watching Panty and Stocking. I like the crude humor, so sue me. And, that twist at the end was just pointless. Sure, it was funny, but it didn't make sense.
In this spoiler I'll go over it for those who don't know.
Alright, so here's the rundown. Two angel sisters fight ghosts to try to get back into heaven. The two beat the main bad guy and re-seal hell together. Then, in the last MINUTE Of the anime, one of the sisters slices up the other with the simple explanation "Sorry, I'm really a demon."
So Escapist, what twists, in any media, do you think were completely nonsensical?

That twist isn't supposed to make sense. It's Gainax being self aware. If you're looking at PSG for a super serious plot, you're going to be severely disappointed.

Planet of the Apes.

Oh not the original with Charlton Heston. No, that was genius. I'm talking about the Tim Burton remake. That...but..wha?!

they start the movie off where if you die in the dream you wake up, half way through they are in a state where if they die in the dream they die for real (also his wife went to limbo from dying from a dream)
Monty python and the holy grail
they go on a grand adventure to get the castle and this is the ending
last week someone said "there are three of them" and I answered "not if I run away"(I died)

I'm not really saying it's a bad thing. It just didn't make sense, I understand it wasn't supposed to. I know that it was Gainax's way of making fun of themselves, I just figured I might spark a discussion on other plot twists that didn't really make sense with the rest of it's media.

What the fuck OP? Really? Aren't twists meant to make the...erm... well something! Now that I think about it, it's the kind of things you don't know how to define. Well for me anyway...

I haven't watched many movies with twists so I wouldn't know.

Even though it made sense and everything, Knights of the Old Republic, when you find out that you're Revan.

It felt like too much of a stretch.

How about the whole ending bit of MGS2 when it was first released, there are like, 10 plot twists in 5 minutes.

The psychic lady isn't psychic and the whole base was a metal gear and solid snake is alive and the psychic lady is actually psychic after all and oselot is now liquid snake and the computer rules the world or something. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!!

The sedative they all took so that they could go down to the otherwise unreachable third dream level causes their heavily sedated subconscious to go into limbo. It's like the sedative is so strong that if you die in the dream you essentially go into a coma in real life. Saito 'dies' and goes to limbo, and after Cobb confesses to Ariadne about Mal he goes down there to find him, risking having to confront Mal again.
then how did she get there?

Scott Shelby being the killer. It was cool for five seconds after you realize it, but once you start to think about it, it's really incredibly stupid. Like how he kills that guy in the antique shop without the player knowing and then immediately calls the police on himself.

She's part of [Character who Leonardo plays]'s subconscious.

The plot twists in MGS4. They didn't bother to explain a damned thing.

It was Manfred who called the police, because he found incriminating evidence. That's also why Scott killed him.

Oh, I got another one!

A Perfect Stranger with Halle Berry and Bruce Willis. Not even multiple viewings can make sense of this one.
