I still think it's cheating they removed many of the block-pushing puzzles etc.
they did not change game in anyway at all

also bird jesus was pidgeot as pointed out before you can find all name and nickname information within twitch plays pokemon reddit page here: http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/ the first uptade thread got all information including importand events that happened within the run.
as a side note starter of this experiment is planing to move on to generation 3 in next 23 hours with most likely modded red team for end fight with pokemons from the first run.

It wouldn't even take 2 minutes to find out that Pigeot is Bird Jesus, not Zapdos.

Game journalism is dead.

Zapdos is Bird Jesus 2: Electric Boogaloo. Pidgeot is the original. Some great comedy came out of TPP. Nothing is funnier than releasing 12 Pokemon at once, or using 'dig' while attempting to complete a dungeon.
Or blacking out exactly in front of the gym key, that was glorious.
Also getting stuck on the same 6 squares of island on the way to cinnabar every time and the chat screaming: "WIIILLSOOOON!"
Good times.

Now I am not trained in psychology but this is a rather public experiment as they come. Something for psych students to take a good look at. Hell the creation of the "anarchy versus democracy" system for instance.

And seeing that even though democracy ought to make things easier it was used mostly in hard areas. Those ledges for instance.. that was a case of requiring democracy!

Mmm so delicious.

I didn't realise they did that. Were they removed in the rom or just control taken away while they were beaten? Either way it's still amazing they finished the game.

If The Escapist let us have signatures this would be mine. It's perfect.

This... this is amazing. A million monkeys on the same typewriter.
Excuse me, putting up this song. It kind of describes the situation perfectly.

funny thing is that the last ledge before pokemon league was cleared with anarchy despite being hardest and that was mostly thanks to start trolls since most downs got cancelled with the start menu.

I thought this was pretty much dead a few days ago when the viewers had dropped all the way down to 26k, but then the next day they had 90k and were on the elite 4.

Ugh, I can't believe I was asleep for this!

Damn you, Australia!!! Couldn't you have waited for at least another 2 hours before you beat this?

Ah well, the journey has been an absolute blast. I can't wait to see what ridiculous shenanigans we get up to in Gold/Silver version.

This is at least the third time something big has been accomplished in the Americas' early morning. The Safari Zone was finished under democracy, Zapdos was caught under anarchy, and now the Elite Four was beaten only about a day after we started fighting them. I wanted to beat it with the stream, especially with my Red file I've gotten from Cerulean City to right past Victory Road training in just a week.

I thought Pidgeot was Bird Jesus, and Zapdos was Battery Jesus/Anti-Air Jesus/Anarchy Jesus/The Archangel.

Next up with any luck, Crystal version with Red edited to have this team in Mt. Silver.
Zapdos is John the Zaptist.

the final battle was considerably less epic than i hoped it would be it mostly consisted of TPP trying and failing to switch out the low level venonat for zapdos while blastoise continued to use withdraw over and over once they succeeded it was over pretty quickly
I saw one of their previous attempts where the lvl 36 venomoth beat Lance's lvl 62 dragonite from full health with poison as it used barrier and agility over and over. Got to be one of the dumbest things I've seen in a Pokemon battle ever.

I wouldn't call the result "Shakespeare".
I'd actually liken it to a Kevin Smith quote "Failing Upwards".

I stayed up 'till 2 AM so I could be around to see it, and these assholes had the nerve to beat it when I was asleep? I wanted to see :( . They made it to Lance on Zapdos alone and when they all banded together to get him in the first slot (in democracy of course) I was sure they would start to get far. But then trolls started to switch in fucking Nidoking on Lorelei (kept spamming right when they should've all been spamming anything BUT down and right. Thundershock would've gotten rid of every one of Lorelei's team) and it took them forever to get through what should've been the easiest E4 member...who of course would usually get everyone but Zapdos and Pidgeot fainted.

Well, glad to hear the finale wasn't climactic. I don't know if it was changed for this stream, but MAN was the AI in the game derpy. I watched when they had a Pokemon (might've been Pidgeot) against Agatha's first Gengar. Gengar used hypnosis, and then switched in to Golbat and used HAZE of all attacks (which eliminates all status changes of both sides, meaning Pidgeot was made awake again). The switch could've been because Gengar couldn't attack with dream eater (btw an attack frequently used by her ghosts on AWAKE Pokemon) or night shade, but Golbat had 3 other attacks to choose from that weren't haze that probably would've helped more than helping the enemy. The constant withdraw from Blastoise and amnesia from Slowbro doesn't surprise me after that.

It was a simple matter of time but I'm surprised it didn't take longer. You know what they have to do next though?

NUZLOCKE RUN!
That was my first thought too. Only problem is figuring out how to make sure they actually release a pokémon after it faints.

First time, in a long time, I have felt part of something bigger. Yeah I was up in the early hours watching them finsh, I dont think I ever been so proud of the internetz

It blows my mind how in the coming years people will move away from Jedi as a religion and focus on a true religion with proper teachings.

PRAISE LORD HELIX!!.

Its a fantastic social study for anyone involved in psychology or its ilk.
