He is 19 years old and he has grown up surrounded by mad men. Is it any surprise that he turned to faith so strongly? It happens and it is nothing to be ashamed of. Plenty of very intelligent people turn to faith when they grow up surrounded by chaos, at least faith is easy to comprehend. Again, he is a regular 19 year old. Attempting to debate him on what T.V. does to the brain and the critiquing his religious beliefs says more about you than it does about him.

Anyway, Two and Half men has always been garbage. I can laugh at shows like Big Bang Theory and most other stupid sitcoms but 2.5 men always required a particular brand of stupid to relate to.

Wow, they still make 2.5 Men? - I thought Ashton Cockshure ruined that within 1 series.

Really, I hate 2.5 Men, it's only saving grace was Charlie Sheen, without him it's just another mindless US shitcom.

Reaaaaallly missing Breaking Bad right now - Fringe is declining at a rapid rate, in fact Fringe is getting worse at the same rate that Walking Dead is getting awesome. I know these aren't comedies, but they're about the only US shows I care about.
I still like Fringe :)
What about Dexter, Game of Thrones, Grimm, Supernatural and Homeland. All of those shows are great U.S. shows. IMO, of course.

If he really was a "true god-fearing Christian" he would just quit this "devilish" show regardless of contractional consequences.

Yeah, I still like Fringe too, but for me it just isn't as interesting as it used to be.

I'd probably watch all those shows if I had the time, never actually watched a full episode of any of them... saving them all for when I have some time off. I prefer to wait for a couple of series, then power through them during a week vacation, did that with Breaking Bad, Prison Break, Heroes etc etc, even Lost.

You've grown up so much, Escapist.
His level of commitment, terrifying.
No more terrifying than the commitment of, say, Richard Dawkins' anti-theistic output.

Or the average Escapist's commitment to video games.

I don't find it terrifying at all, and I don't see why anyone (except the anti-theistic) would.

Can't recommend the Filth highly enough. It's some of Grant Morrison's weirdest work, but really good.
I will give you a million internet cookies. I love Morrison's work, and yes the Filth is awesome.

I'm two minutes into this and so far it's a bunch of nothing, and the fact he..."likes black people".

...wut

He specifically likes a race...

k...

I feel he keeps building up sentences with "y'know" and "like" and whenver he actually finally gets to the point I'm always disappointed in how meaningless it was.

Later:
Yes..ofcourse...studies show that shows affect your brain. They ofcourse make you worse, afterall, he's on the show and that's made him a worse person right? Right?

I'm guessing he's going to donate all his remaining money earned from The Enemy to good causes like charities, right? Right?

"Whether you like it or not, the truth is the truth."

What creeps me out more is how out of it he seems. Its almost as if he's high, which is really weird for me because I used to watch that show a lot and he was never like that.

That's actually a fair point. There is something a bit off about the video itself.

Sucks to be him. I imagine being forced into a position where you have to keep making episodes of a show you hate due to legal reasons and wanting a future career, isn't fun. Mind you it's not the worse position to be in the world.

Binding of Isaac.

I'd get equally creeped out if a cult based around a video game popped up, and I saw people who had a level of faith that if the game character told them to kill someone they would.

Sorry mate, but I lost interest when you brought your imaginary friend into the mix. "The enemy's plans?" If Two and a Half Men is on any plan I think we can safely ignore the "threat".

It sounds to me like he's attacking TV in general, or at least sitcoms, more than just the show he's on. I can honestly understand that more. I'm not sure how TV is somehow related to Satan, or what he thinks TV actually does to our brains, but I get how you could work for a TV show but not like TV much. Maybe his participation on the show contributed to this.

"Let's criticize the show that pays me $300,000 per episode. That'll be a smart move in my life.

Gimme a break. If it's that bad, and it's against your religion and it's filth and you hate it so much, quit.

His character is basically being written off anyway, so perhaps that's what the plan is.
thats the thing. he cant quit. he signed a contract that holds him there even if he hates it. if he decides to quit he will be in debt so large his grandchildren will be paying the studio.
I wouldn't have thought debt would matter all that much to such a doting Christian.

Its just really creepy seeing a person who, with their utmost, believes a super intelligent evil supreme devil has his hands on the world with tools like television. Its just so disturbing to imagine what that must be like to live like that. Its as weird and creepy to me as if someone did an interview and said "YOU SHOULDNT EAT THE CHEEEESE MAN. Its THEIR plan. Their plan dude. To control you. The illuminati are watching and you must FEAR THEM."

Its just really creepy to imagine living like that. He actually believes satan is working through a TV show to corrupt people and watching "2 and a half men" is a LIFE or DEATH matter. MORE important than that. Eternal suffering or Eternal bliss rests on YOU WATCHING A TV SHOW! Its such a disturbing concept that people would believe these things. Its not his commitment. Its the scale and absurdity of the conspiracy. And it IS a conspiracy theory.

Im equally as disturbed by people who live in a basement with no electricity or outside contact because "they" will come and get them. It aint the religious part. Its the crazy tin foil hat part.

I kinda took his words one step beyond to mean the jews. Ya know, Chuck Lorre and all that jazz.

What an idiot.

His last contract negotiation was 2 years ago, where he felt okay taking 300 grand per episode. Why anybody would pay this non-actor that much money for what has been a superfluous role for the last couple of years, is beyond me.

His contract runs out THIS SEASON. This dipshit could have just let the contract end and be on his way. Having the audacity to shit on the show that made him a millionaire makes me wish all kinds of biblical things on him.

TAAHM was a watchable sitcom for 3 seasons or so, but it went the Married With Children route of becoming nothing but 20 minutes of insults and sexual innuendo.
