I'd like to see either a reboot or an updated version of Freelancer.
I'd also like an HD collection of the PS2 .hack games on the PS3.

How is a reboot different from a modern sequel (other than in game time-line)Savagezion? I agree with otakon17 that Bethesda would probably do a good job of it.
As for HD treatment Legacy o Kain Soul Reaver
I totally missed this post. A sequel isn't bad but you should release it expecting people to have not played the first one. As such I see that as a reboot. A good place to step in and try the IP if you haven't yet. You can throw easter eggs in for those that have played the first but you should have it require no knowledge of the first's story. At most, skim the first's story and do something new. A remake would just tell the same story again, which I would buy, but I don't think it is anything fantastic that couldn't be done much better. You could do a sequel in reboot fashion. That's how I would like to see it done anyways.

You may see that as a simply a sequel. But I would be ok with Arcanum just ditching Troika's material and just making a new game that used the same mechanics in a similar world and ignore the first title.

Dishonored, for example, in passing has generally the same gameplay setup for the core mechanics, but it has WAAAAAAY better gameplay. That's probably because Arkane didn't use Bethesda's shitty game engine from 1997, and used Unreal Engine 3 instead. Either that, or maybe Bethesda is actually just shit at everything except lore and making things look pretty (until it moves, then it looks horrible because they apparently animate like it's still 2001).
Lol, yeah they do. I don't like knocking em too bad because they updated it well with Skyrim. I am not really familiar with Dishonored design as I chose to skip it. It makes me curious to check it out. Something about that game bugs me though and I can't put my finger on it. It's irrational clearly, but it's there. It may have to do with the pre-order stuff or something.
Oh man, you should REALLY play Dishonored. I'd say it's one of the best games of the last few years.
Dishonored, oddly, has some of Bethesda's animation problem, but they're still waaaaaaaaaay better. The one thing about it that I really notice as weird is the exaggerated styles of the characters in the game. They've kinda got slightly big heads and HUGE hands, but it fits in with the art style of the world, which is....like a painting?
The most similar game to it that I can think of is actually Deus Ex:Human Revolution, insofar as you're stealthing around, assassinating people, and upgrading yourself with crazy powers.
It's like Deus Ex:HR if it were set in Arcanum, instead of futuristic Detroit.

The thing I will credit Bethesda with is awesome world maps.
Yea, they're pretty good. I think...
I'm not sure if I want to give them more or less credit because of this, but I worked out that the entirety of Skyrim is only about 4x the size of my neighborhood (mind you I live in Houston, so it's a good sized neighborhood).
Skyrim is only ~15 square miles.
Makes sense, I guess, since you can ride across the whole thing in a like 10 minutes, or climb a mountain in a couple....but we don't really notice while playing. We think it's HUGE.
I wonder if that's a side effect of us maybe not living around mountains and being familiar with them...
Dunno 'bout where you live, but Houston is flat as hell.

Well as any reboot would basically be an HD remake in some senses, I'll go with my default answer for both:

Quest for Glory 1-5, all put together in one game or episodically released. Great humor, would work awesome as an open world action RPG and would make my fucking day. Still think its got one of the best stories all-around and the humor element made it much more fun.
