I was at work and saw that there was Two Worlds on sale for 10 USD. I read mostly bad reviews for the game, but I was interested about why it got bad reviews. I picked it up out of curiosity.

I'm very interested in general game design (menu, story, gameplay, characters, etc), and in order for one to appreciate good game design, one has to suffer bad design.

If you've played it, what did you think about it? Why did you think it was bad?

The game was such a blatant Oblivion clone, except with a horrible combat system. I completed it, but only because I'm a stubborn bastard. Crappy game.
The only good point I can give it is that the evil ending made more sense then the good ending (iirc).

It's bland, boring, not all that pretty, not all that fun, quite bland, and let's not forget not all that good at telling a story. But, if you wanna spend 10 USD on a game that will teach you a new meaning of bland, then go for it.

I like to play the demo for kicks. It's so bad it's funny; I once heard the protagonist make a "mother-in-law" joke...wow.

Because I'm interested in why the game is considered bad. I'm interested in bad game design so that one can avoid those in the future.

Is it bad story? Is it bad menu interface? Is it an issue with the Gameplay?

I'd like some decent input rather than random quips and phrases that consist of Yahtzee quotes, you unoriginal fools.

Well, guy, you said the story is bad, the menus are bad, and the game plays issue-ly.

More specifically, the voice acting is beyond terrible: there's awkward pauses, Shakespearean accents, and MOTHER-IN-LAW JOKES! Both the delivery and writing are terrible.

The menus are a minor gripe, but they are poorly designed: button executables overlap, tiny icons (even on a HD TV), and they are just not pleasing to look at. This all could be fixed if they hired a decent graphic designer, instead letting some, no-styled programmer handle it.

The game plays badly, because it looks bad: there's an inconsistent framerate, chopped and ugly animations, both are gamebreakers. Since I've only played the demo and the full game briefly, I can't judge on much else, but can't say that I was enticed to continue playing it.
