The only times when it gets to me are when there is an excess in one post, and when people spell "a lot" as one word (that really gets to me).

Never the less, I agree on terrible sentences with ALOT of grammatical errors and typos.
*glares at Simski*
I don't like writing "A lot".
It looks wrong.

Besides, I've heard americans spell it that way.

That 'i' remains uncapitalised. Are you mad?
I am very irritated about it. But i am going to leave it. Just to see if anyone else catches it.
Are we playing some kind of "Spot The Grammatical Error" game now? If not, then capitalise that 'i' also!
Fine your bidding is done.

You forget some are more... prone(?) to learning new language, for example I stammer and pause mid-sentence when I speak Danish but I never make a flaw wen I talk English. So I'm kinda "forgetting" how to talk in my primary language.
That reminds me of 'My Fair Lady'......This bit:
Her English is too good, he said,
Which clearly indicates that she is foreign.
Whereas others are instructed in their native language
English people aren't.

I am an extreme Grammar Nazi. If normal Grammar Nazis are the SS, then I'm Heinrich Himmler.

I hate bad spelling, unless there is a reason, such as genuine dyslexia, disabilities, and so forth.

However, if there's one thing I hate, one thing I cannot stand, one thing I despise, it is this "txt spk" that seems to be around everywhere.

If somebody came up to me in real life and said "hy m8, wan 2 do smthn tmz?" I would punch them in the back of the head. It's just not right.
I would strap them to a seat and make them watch Barney all day long. I don't know why, but I just think it would be funny.

It's the new members who spell wrong, they were not taught that there used to be consequences, like Joe kicking your ass inside out with a ban hammer.
Well I am a new member and I can spell just fine.
Why?
Wouldn't that be making a bad example of yourself?
Well yes in a way it would, but I can not help but to have proper spelling. It's just the way I am. The way I grew up was around a bunch of no brain having people. No spelling or grammar structure at all. I told myself I cannot be like this when I get older.
Ah, I recognice that... kinda.

I grew up around people with a Swedish-english accent I found horrible, I promised myself I would never sound like them.

I just wish people would learn how to spell. I also hate when people use the "text speak" in conversations, in person. I just want to strangle them.

You know, I was tempted to point out the five or six grammatical and spelling mistakes in your post, but that would be too cruel. I'm generally okay with typos, because they're exactly that, typos.

What really gets my goat though is more than six blatant mistakes in a paragraph, especially if the poster is trying to demonstrate the enormity of his/her intelligence in their arguments.

Hate it as well. I have strong Grammar Nazi tendencies. And you know the one thing better than correcting the spelling of the ordinary folk? Correcting the grammar of fellow Nazis. Look back to the beginning of the post and capitalise that 'i'.

On topic, does anyone else despise it when the idiots just say, "WTF? Its not english calss!!1"
Same here.

Oh, and I know you're referring to Kodester.

Yeah some people aren't great spellers around here. However there's no a need to go ballistic at anyone who forgets an apostrophe or such. I've always made it my policy to:
a) Only go crazy about bad spelling and grammar in the reviews section and,
b) Never post just to point out a small error.

I know people who speak just like that.

Okay, I just recently joined The Escapist not to long ago and I've noticed an epidemic. Why can't people spell correctly?
Many members of the community are still young, others are not native speakers. Regardless of the reason, a spell-checker can work wonders for anyone, and we highly recommend them to anyone who wants to be taken serious here.

That's it though, if someone is a poor speller but has something interesting to say we're not going to crucify him. We'll probably send him a friendly PM about where to get a spell-checker. This is a forum first, and that means we have to accommodate for people of all walks of life.

I don't think someone can do friendly.

I do feel obliged to point out that "Hate it as well" is not a grammatically correct sentence.
Give it up for the GrammarNazis
I have fixed your post.
I figured it did not need the grammar part. The thread is about those types of things. I thank you anyway.
Better to be safe than accidentally thought of as a racist.
