First off, you missed my name in your quote here, so I didn't know you had replied!

One does not "escape" without knowing where he is going... certain people escape to certain things: if I like to day-dream in school about being a space-marine, I'm not going to go home and play Final Fantasy.
Sure. Preference plays a large part. It plays the entire part.
I am into football(soccer) a whole lot. It is a much bigger passion than "gaming".
Does that mean I play football games? Of course!
Yes, I am quite aware of this. Nowhere have I stated otherwise, and if I did, then that is my mistake. Like I said, taste in videogames is not a good way to learn about someone, but nevertheless, the signs pertaining to personality there.
I thought you were indeed implying causating in correlation. I misunderstood - sorry.
Yes, Morgan Webb's summary of gamer architypes is broad, yes it is a bit offensive. But I don't see how one can debate the notion that peronality and psyche haven't any bearing on taste in art. I'm still not convinced you are correct, can you maybe provide a hypothetical example of some sort?
I'll use myself as an example. Nothing hypothetical about me.
As mentioned before. I am a huge football fan. I am also a fan of icehockey, basketball and American footbal.
What would you associate with such a person normally?
??
That is the whole problem.
You
cannot infer anything based on ones preferences.
You can say "Sports fans enjoy sports games", sure!
You cannot, however, say "Sports fans enjoy sports games, and are also aggressive people"
You cannot say "You are an aggressive person, you are going to like this game"
You cannot say "You strike me as a reserved, shy person. You are going to like this other game".
You cannot infer traits or personality from preference - or the other way around.
