Thread should be entitled, "Fort Hood hits record high for suicides in 2010."

Misleading title is misleading.

Note: the Army considers suicide a very large problem and they do a lot to keep their warriors from committing suicide. Additionally, it's Fort Hood, I've talked to lots of people who have been stationed there and none of them liked it.

I hate to see anyone go like that. Army or not, but here it a bit more...distressing, I guess.

I have a friend whose brother was in the Army Reserve and decided he didn't want to take the challenge anymore, so he had a friend break his freakin' leg so he could get out of basic.

Not completely related but still...

Wouldn't you still be obligated to go through with basic after your legs heal?

It's a wonder people can still believe that an army can be completely filled with mindless drones with no opinion of right or wrong when it's actually made of human beings. More OT it's nice to see they are trying out programs for mental health to, hopefully, prevent tragedies like this from happening. Mental health deserves more attention then it gets I think.

Nope, the US army does not want people who have had broken bones. My dad tried to join the Navy, but the wouldn't let him since he broke his wrist before.
