There was a workarround within the first week, it was however very hard to do.

I guess this one was more aimed at the people who didn't know how to set up a whole fake server themselves.

I might consider buying the game now that I don't have to deal with the DRM.

HA!

Old news, but still, it's nice to see that corporate groupthink gets undermined yet again.

DRM ONLY hurts legitimate customers, has prevented ZERO pirates from doing what they want in it's long history, and is completely and utterly pointless.

Stupid Ubisoft, when ya gonna learn?

And when are you going to give me a BG&E 2?!

And yet Ubisoft will continue to blame pirates for their crappy sales in the future rather than the Deliverance themed DRM they chose to use.

When will companies realise that DRM only hurts legitimate buyers?

DRM is pointless, it always was

Unless it's steam :p
Gah, Steam is not DRM. Steam is a distribution platform that is supposed to make it so easy to obtain games that it's not worth the time taken to pirate them.

Steamworks is DRM. Steamworks is not effective DRM. 99% of games on Steam have been pirated.

DRM is only ever a delaying tactic. It will be broken, the game will go out to people for free. Ubisoft/EA's DRM is not a good DRM, and I will never buy any PC game that has it included, but as long as people keep pirating games DRM will continue to get worse.

Ubisoft basically won if they got the sales from the first 3 or 4 weeks. That's mainly what the DRM is there to prevent. Most of these AAA games get their sales from week 1 and preorders anyway. Why do you think there are no ads 5 weeks after release?

In any case this was posted long ago by someone so not really new news.
Actually that post was about a normal crack IIRC and it ended up not working after the opening sections of the game. This one is 100% working and it came out a few days/week ago.

Actually I just did a college research paper on the subject, and almost all pirates that pirate games/music/movies won't buy them if they can't pirate them.

I'm fairly sure Pirates have a lot more then 1 in their scores.

Odd that Pirates get a better gaming experience then legit buyers...
pirates always get a better deal, always have a better deal, its why people pirate.
