Not only does it require their notorious Always-On DRM, even though they said it wouldn't, but it's also a lazy port that's locked at 30 FPS, has little to no graphical options, and is riddled with bugs.

Way to go, Ubi. You've become the one game company I may actually condone pirating from.

Friend got it, was overly excited, played it for 20 minutes and cursed it more than i've ever heard a game cursed.

As if my mental energy had propelled itself into the future and seen this coming (but failed to bring back winning lottery numbers so my mental energey propelling sucks hairy monkey balls).

I said to my wife when I heard it was coming to PC that it's going to be a half arsed port riddled with bugs.

It's a shame really because Ubisoft games have quite a lot of potential. The Assassins Creed games for one. But PC get, I repeat an earlier statement, half arsed ports and they have nothing but problems.

I had to stop buying their games. I've never had so many issues with games since KoTOR and it's constant CTD on more "updated" machines.

Well, if you want to play it there's nothing stopping you from:

- Buying it
- DLing the torrent
- Playing it

It sounded interesting, and i would do that, but honestly? Don't have the time and i already played Black and White back in the day.

I'm glad I went with Bastion instead this month. From Dust looked like a really interesting game (and it seems to be that, but let down by poor implementation).

I've played the PC version and quite like it a lot actually. Games have bugs, get over it, they can be patched.

Personally, I'm about 4 worlds in and haven't seen any bugs. The framerate issue really isn't that big of an issue, but it was probably just heaped in there to add weight to your complaining.

They game is great, go check it out. It's available on Steam now.

Huh.

I was strongly considering buying that. Not any more. Nice going Ubisoft.

Hopefully Bastion is as good as people have been saying.

Yes they can be patched. But Ubisoft rarely patches their games even if they're AAA titles. Conviction and AC2 still run like shit on most machines.

Basically it looks beautiful on 360. That's all. A From Dust poster will get you just as much enjoyment.

Biggest complaint I heared sofar is that the mouse control scheme is terrible.

Play the Steam demo. If nothing else, to hear the Morgan Freeman-alike narrating you.
I loved the narrator and the game, too.
In my opinion it's a better investment than From Dust - From Dust is too short, too easy, the controls can be a pain and the path finding can be outright annoying.
Oh, and don't forget the always online DRM, good that I didn't buy it myself...

Bought it on Steam yesterday, and I'm not exactly happy. First of all, I didn't know this game was primarily developed for consoles and that the PC version would just be a port. I've played the XBLA demo, and it looked great; I simply wanted to play the PC version because games like these control better with a mouse. Now I have good controls, but I also have graphical glitches en masse, the occasional complete freeze-up, and a ton of pathfinding bugs.
I was so excited for this game, and now I not only have to contend with the infamous Ubi DRM (which means the company flat-out lied to its consumers), but also a shamefully poor port.
Why do you do this to me, Ubi? I love your console stuff, I really do - so why behave this way on a different platform? I simply don't understand. :(

Don't buy From Dust, its got more bugs than New Vegas, the DRM is fucking awful, there's no customer support and it's a really shitty port. Get the Bastion demo, see if you like it, and buy that instead.

Since they cracked From Dust less than 12 hours after its release, the DRM is completely wasted on pirates. All it does is annoy legitimate paying customers.

So yeah, I'm pretty much okay with other people stealing Ubisoft games. Publishers have to learn somehow.

Nice going Ubisoft, I've already asked for a refund on Steam. I don't want anything to do with that crap of theirs, the same reason I'm avoiding Driver: San Fransisco.

Get the console version of From dust then.

It's an amazing game, and the devs deserve the money.

The sad thing is the actual control scheme. It's fucking horrendous and more unresponsive than a drunk homeless person. If you're going to release a game on the PC then at least optimize it properly and if you're unwilling to do so then just fuck off.

I know this part was meant mostly in jest, but please don't say this.

It seriously only encourages them -_-

OT: Bastion looked better anyway!

Harumph.
