I'm not sure what I dislike more at the moment: games that require M$ GFWL or Uplay. Both systems are DRM and both can be very slow. Slow sometimes because of client updates, sometimes just logging in or sometimes for no apparent reason.
Really annoying. When you haven't touched Ubi or GFWL games in a while, plan for a coffee break or do something else entirely because it will be long before the game will actually run.
I've still managed to avoid Origin entirely so I don't have any recent experiences with EA atm.

Right now I think EA, Activision, Ubi and M$ all deserve many thumbs down. The big contrast nowadays is between these giants and such few smaller companies that try to do right by their fans and customers.

Yes, Ubisoft is the addition to "the list" for myself.

EA
Capcom
Intel
Apple
Razer

Microsoft is pretty bad, so I'm considering putting them there.
Activision-Blizzard doesn't make anything I might care about, so I don't need to add them to the list yet.

No, not really, just view all big publishers with a bit of distrust. Singling out one publisher for being more "evil" than the others is quite short-sighted and allows others to get away with the same shit.
It's just a breaking point.
You can distrust big publishers, and then you can outright refuse to buy from them.

I don't really trust business of any sort, but I'll buy from them as long as they don't have policies that discourage creative control or ignore/destroy customer input. That's what OP is getting at, when do you draw the line?

Oh yeah.. Ubisoft. That is kinda a minefield. Ever since they began their always on DRM crusade for single player games. And failing within the first few days to keep the server running.

And of course their U-Play service is so good...ahum.

Nah if I see that kind of crap on a gamebox I don't buy it.

And before you ask yes Origin and Windows for Live also is a no-no.

Well that makes the choice of games I buy huge doesn't it? *rolls eyes* [luckily I do like older rpgs. bought shadowrun returns lately :)]

From my memory, most of the things that annoy me about other companies, Ubisoft did first. I cant recall how long back it goes, but Ubisoft were definitely a red flag 'This game might not work' for me before EA was.

Ubisoft just arent as popular I guess, so it doesnt get saturated as heavily as the bigger baddies?

Actually no, Microsoft is the worst. Games for Windows Live is horrendous, and they've butchered quite a few excellent developer over the years. So Ubisoft is second worst after Microsoft, EA would come third in my mind.
Pretty much this.
GFWL is just an utter clusterfuck.
When I got Bioshock 2 I ended up having to mod various previous GFWL games in order that they'd actually save on my goddamn computer rather than 'the cloud', which for some reason became mandatory after installing Bioshock 2.
It even disabled my Fallout 3 saves that were already in the saved games folder because it was trying to use the cloud only.
I mean, would it really be that hard to program it to look for save files, them port them to the cloud when GFWL was first installed/activated?

I pretty much despise Ubisoft at the moment because of how they are basically trying to steal Patrice Désilets's game 1666 Amsterdam by just suspending it. Until they apologize and give him back his game I am boycotting any games they publish and/or develop. Other things I dislike about them are Uplay and how any of their games games I bought(before the theft of Patrice's game)on Steam has to open Uplay when I want to play them. Same thing with Microsoft and their dumb idea to use GFWL. If I buy a game on a digital platform like Steam that uses Steamwroks as DRM. I should not have to sign into any other accounts or deal with other forms of DRM.

Between Activision, Electronic Arts, and Ubisoft I prefer EA leaps and bounds over the other two. Honestly, I actually like Origin. I like Steam much more but I have never had a problem with Origin though and therefore see no reason to dislike it.

Personally, I've shared Jim Sterling's view of Ubisoft as the EA of Europe for years now.

They were the first ones to jump on EA's online pass bandwagon, they've turned Assassin's Creed (a series I once loved and praised) into their own personal answer to COD, they're the first publisher I can think of to implement always on DRM, and their recent comments about it not even being worth it to make a game if they can't milk it into a franchise just bring my blood to a boil!
They've made allot of the mistakes I dislike EA and Activision for and more in recent memory and I'm not pleased.
I'm not saying we should all boycott Ubisoft by any stretch of the imagination (I mean I hate EA but I'm sure as hell gonna be buying more of their games in the future) but they are certainly starting to test their consumers' patience, and as someone who literally grew up on Rayman and Prince of Persia, who heralds Assassin's Creed II as one of the finest accomplishments of the last console generation, I can't help but feel a little let down.

Can anyone explain to me why everyone's been hating on Square Enix lately? I admit I haven't played their games in a while, but they always came across as more cripplingly incompetent then actively evil. On the long list of bad companies out there, Square never really registered with me. Have they been doing something I'm unaware of? To put them on a trinity of companies that needs to disappear feels a little harsh. Capcom, Ea, Microsoft, and plenty more seem worse to me.
I'm with you on this one...they have made some terrible decisions in recent years and their games are suffering for it but they really don't strike me as trying to pull the wool over my eyes. They haven't lied to me or tried to rape me then apologise...they just aren't as good as they once were.
