True but it's 'cos nobody was at his level and his level got quickly over taken.Glongpre said:But Anderson always fights like that. He tries to get you to commit to a strike, and then counters you. It just didn't work out for him that fight. Plus, Silva was past his prime, so a prime Silva would probably have won. Based on his legacy, Weidman has a lot of work to do to be a better fighter than Silva.omega 616 said:The first Anderson fight was won 'cos Anderson was fucking around like he always did and got caught with a hook. Weidman won fair and square, no argument BUT to me, it doesn't make him a better fighter than Anderson 'cos Anderson wasn't being his best self. It's like if I sucker punched Anderson and knocked him out, am I better fighter? No. It is all Anderson's fault for clowning and Weidman did win but he won against a clown and not a fighter.
Second fight, Anderson was playing for real, wanted that belt back but a crazy rare occurrence happened and he broke his leg ... how many times has that leg break happened out of how many MMA fights ever? 10 times out 10,000 fights? So again, doesn't prove Weidman is a better fighter than Anderson.
Second fight was a freak occurrence for sure, it happens a lot more in Muay Thai/Kickboxing bouts due to them being better at actually checking kicks. Was a beauty check though, right below the knee cap, so Silva's thin area of the tibia was hitting Weidman's thicker part. That hurts.
One fight he was unstoppable and then Weidman touched his chin and it's been down hill since then, especially that loss to Bisping ... knocks the dude out and still loses!
Speaking of that dick, somehow beats Silva even though he was knocked out. Then Rockhold gets too cocky and gets KO'd by him ... lucky bastard!
