It appears the hijackers are aligned with the anti-SOPA and CISPA movements, but so is 4chan...I'm a little worried. Looks too elaborate to just be a prank.

It seems like it was a flash in the pan redirect hack and now the site is just down. I get the feeling it was in fact just for the lulz.

quiet! they have spies everywhere! we're all going to be buried in DDos attacks any second now.

I'm at work so I wasn't even going to attempt to see if the redirect was working on this computer. Which twitter account was it?

My guess is maybe it was retaliation for the DDos on Pirate bay a while back, or someone did it for the lulz which is like 90% of 4chan anyway.

It's most likely a DDos attack. Nothing new, nothing to actually worry about and highly likely to happen again.

Some nazi guy hacked it. It rediected me to UGNazi's twitter page. I wasn't even mad until I got to that twitter page. I just thought, "Okay, you just lost all credibility in my eyes by advertising your fucking twitter. Go die in a fire." Wish I had a twitter account for that.

I think its mostly because of /b/. Its just like Pc Elitest and such, only a small faction, but it colors everyones opinions of the whole.

As someone who was around when the real Eternal September originally started (it is now September 6850th, 1993, for those keeping score at home), it's always funny seeing people who weren't even born yet at the time referencing it for other reasons. I can never decide if it's cute or if I should shout at people to get off my lawn. Maybe just eat my oatmeal and wait until someone tells me it's time for my nap.
