I've not been on the escapist much lately and dont watch tv anymore because i had been playing games or working. Last few weeks when im on the escapist ive been seeing the pony avatars...
Is it good? Im just slightly confused to see something like that on the escapist.

Also, the mods are a bit tired of Pony threads. So, if you like the show, just click the following link:

I don't think they're getting tired of ponies, I think they're getting tired of flame-wars involving ponies. Pony threads don't seem to be shut down on sight. Which is very nice, I must add.

OT: It's a good show, great animation, excellent humor, there are plenty of great screenshots, it's not drivel... uhm, and that's all I can think of. Check it out (I'd skip the first 2 episodes and probably the third as well, they aren't the best) and find out whether you enjoy it.

I don't know, the third is actually one of my favorite, and is a great way to introduce people to the show without their first exposure being the pilot episodes. In addition, the main cast all get decent screen time.

Aww, see, I really loved the pilot. The second episode was a little blatantly predictable, but the first episode was really well done, I thought. And, even with predictability, it was still a really good episode.

Then again, I love the "pony mythology" that they create in this series. It's so... greek.

Well it all depends upon the person. I didn't find the pilot that interesting (compared to other episodes) and the 3rd one wasn't that great IMO either. That might just be me though. Also you don't have to start at the beginning due to the fact that there isn't a definite plot line going on throughout the series. Things carry on, but you won't be lost if you don't watch them in order.

See, I actually think it's good to start with the first episode, at least with the promise that the show isn't going to be some sort of Care Bears/Captain Planet fusion later on.

The first episode does a great job of introducing all of the characters, as well as giving all the back story (what little of it there is). How else would people know why the heck the purple pony is writing about friendship to the big unicorn thing?

Don't feel ashamed about liking Friendship is Magic, there's really nothing wrong with it. Luaren Faust made the series to be enjoyable to little girls and their parents. In her own words, "If adults [and teenagers] without children enjoy it too, well, that just makes sense."

I was sort of in that comics shoes, but yeah it is a decent show, I watch it when I have nothing better to do.

Exactly. It is rather predictable, and for that reason my brother can't get into it. Which is sad. If you can get over the predictability of it and just enjoy it, it's really great.
