Okay, okay, I can't keep up the sarcasm for an entire post, the title will have to do.
Most of us have recieved our census last week or this, and since it's a legal requirement to fill it out, we've got no choice to slog through.

What are your opinions on it? Personally I find some of the questions are raising my eyebrows, i'm not sure if my health falls into "Very good" or just "Good".. I mean, i'm healthy yeah, but i'm not an athlete.

Have you got any illnesses that require ongoing treatment?

Are you handicapped in any way?

Do you consider your self obese and unfit?

Are you in any way mentally unstable?

If you answered no to all of these, put very good.

Anything else would just be your opinion, that's all the government wants to know in this case I think...

I thought it was poorly worded too though.

The most annoying thing I found is that I heard about the jedi thing after I had filled in the census.

I won't get another chance for 10 years!

Woo, i'm very healthy then! :D
I'm not a fan of having to fill these out, i've yet to decide whether or not i'm going to fill out "Jedi" for my religion or just stick to "No religion".. hm. :/

For several of the questions I will probably be writing none of your damned business.

Eh, I was too disappointed by it to see the excitement in it. I'd been waitng for my Minus the Bear - Omni LP so when my mother said to me: "Guess what arrived in the mail today!" I was let down by the actual reveal.

On a serious note I've looked at it for about five minutes. Rather vague at time isn't it?

I'm so glad I was out of country during the USA's last census. I just had to do age, race, gender, and marital status.

And now, I'll finally be able to find out how many people in the UK are in 'good' health. My hopes and prayers have been answered.

I thought about it too. I put Jedi last time for the lulz.

But on the grounds I take theology pretty seriously I'll probably put no religion. These figures could affect spending and community issues for a decade, I think it's for the best they are fairly conclusive.

I have two, one for my student house and one at my parents house. Do we fill it in twice, or can I use one for novelty purposes, Name: Lord Lucan Age: Over 100 Occupation: Hiding

Whats dodgey is that an American arms company is the one collecting the data. Under the patriot act, all American companies must hand over data at the request to the CIA. As well as this, all 27 EU member states will have access to the info, as well as variuos companies and approved researchers. Considering information security in british goverment is laughable, im not sure im keen to give all my details away.

Not that im paranoid, after all, im on the electoral register, have a passport pay tax etc so if "they" wanted my info, they already have it. I just want to know that before I fill it in, the info is neccesary and will be used by the goverment only (no that i particularly trust cameron and his cronies)

you only need to fill it out once, as you have to specify other houses in it anyway, so yeah go to town with the other

Considering the covert/espionage capabilities government agencies have, do really think it's necessary for a government to need a legitimate method of finding out information on it's people?

Not that learning you're* a 21 year old media student who calls himself a Jedi is of particular interest to the CIA anyway.

I'd say these concerns were largely unfounded...

*not you personally

Man yours sounds way more extensive than ours. Ours is 'age, marital status, sex, race' and if you have any kids, if so then answer the questions for them.

That's it as far as I remember. They might ask religion I don't think so though.

Yea irritating, In Northern Ireland( Probably the rest of the U.K, but i don't know) You can leave out the religion part, which I did.

I think you can also ignore the religion question in the British one. I put down none religious- my house-mate wouldn't allow me to put down jedi. :(

Also, to anyone wondering, Question 17 is left blank because, in the Welsh language census, it asks if Welsh is your first language or not.

Finally, i put my health down as "fair", as i am quasi-hypochondriac.

I think my main problem with the census was just that there wasn't enough space to write "RUSSIAN FEDERATION" in the "If you lived in another country in the last few years, where was that?" question. RUSSIA doesn't quite cover it.

Also: "no religion". Let's get faith out of schools.

Oh shit, still havent done this.

I'd better get on it, as my flatmates will almost certainly be unaware of it's existance or wont want to fill it in :(
